Don’t Starve Together is set to launch on iOS and Android on July 21, and I am truly excited about it. I've invested considerable time in the PC version, and it remains one of my top multiplayer survival sandbox games due to how quickly a typical session can spiral into chaos.
Klei Entertainment’s dark, quirky, and punishing survival game is being adapted for mobile by Playdigious. Preorders and preregistrations are now available, and the game is being offered at a 10 percent launch discount, reducing the price to $8.99 from the standard $9.99.
What makes this mobile port appealing to me
Don’t Starve Together is the multiplayer spin-off of Don’t Starve. Players gather resources, craft equipment, construct bases, farm, hunt, explore The Constant, and confront various strange creatures and dangers. You have the option to play privately with friends, join others online, or choose a solo experience to increase the challenge.
The original single-player mobile version, Don’t Starve Pocket Edition, seemed to struggle with adapting the PC controls to a smartphone interface. This type of game relies heavily on fast inventory management, crafting, movement, and combat, so the control scheme is crucial to the overall experience.
Playdigious / Klei Entertainment
My confidence is bolstered by Playdigious. The studio previously produced an exceptional mobile version of Dead Cells, a RogueVania I enjoyed extensively, which makes me optimistic about this release.
New features for mobile
Playdigious has redesigned the interface for mobile devices and incorporated touch controls tailored for smaller screens. The game will also support controllers, which should benefit longer gameplay sessions. New players will have the ability to modify the difficulty, allowing for exploration in The Constant without facing the game's usual harshness.
Playdigious / Klei Entertainment
Additional mobile features include Game Center achievements, cloud saves across Android and iOS devices, and optimization for the iPhone 17, including the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Cosmetic items will also be available for purchase through in-app transactions.
Long-time players will benefit as well. Klei has confirmed that Steam users will be able to transfer their skins to the mobile version via a Klei account. It remains uncertain if players on other platforms, such as Nintendo Switch, will have the same option.
I have approximately four years of experience, primarily focusing on gaming, PC hardware, and smartphones. In my spare time, I enjoy...
Criterion states Burnout isn't forgotten… but that’s precisely what concerns me
The success of Battlefield makes EA's decision clear, but it leaves a significant gap in arcade racing.
In a recent interview with IGN, Criterion reflected on its 30-year history, spanning Burnout and Need for Speed to helping revive Battlefield. The studio emphasized that Burnout continues to be an essential element of its identity, while acknowledging that its future is now firmly tied to Battlefield. Appropriately, Criterion’s new 30th anniversary logo prominently features the tagline: "Criterion: A Battlefield Studio."
On the surface, this makes complete sense. Battlefield 6 has quickly become one of EA's most significant successes in years. It revitalized a franchise many had dismissed, achieved the largest launch in Battlefield history, and reminded everyone why this series was once a major competitor to Call of Duty. As a Battlefield enthusiast, I’m genuinely thrilled. However, as a Burnout fan, this realization is somewhat painful.

New study finds gaming doesn’t damage your brain, but compulsive behaviors might
Your 100-hour save file may actually be benign.
For years, parents have feared that excessive gaming hours are detrimental to their teenagers' cognitive health. However, a new study suggests otherwise. It appears that the number of hours spent gaming isn't the real culprit behind possible harm. Researchers discovered that adolescents’ gaming hours had slight positive correlations with certain cognitive skills.
The warning signs of concern emerged more distinctly among teenagers exhibiting symptoms of compulsive or uncontrolled gaming. So if a person struggles to control their gaming habits, experiences cravings they can’t resist, or uses deception to continue playing despite negative
