Don’t Starve Together is set to launch on iOS and Android on July 21
Playdigious / Klei Entertainment
Don’t Starve Together is finally arriving on iOS and Android on July 21, and I'm truly excited about it. I've invested a lot of time into the PC version, and it continues to be one of my favorite multiplayer survival sandbox games due to how quickly a typical session can descend into chaos.
Klei Entertainment’s dark, unusual, and punishing survival game is being adapted for mobile by Playdigious. Preorders and preregistrations are currently available, with the game offered at a 10% discount upon launch, reducing the price from $9.99 to $8.99.
Why this mobile adaptation captures my interest
Don’t Starve Together is the multiplayer counterpart to Don’t Starve. Players gather resources, craft equipment, build bases, farm, hunt, explore The Constant, and confront various bizarre creatures and dangers. You can play in private with friends, join others online, or attempt to survive solo for an added challenge.
The original single-player mobile version, Don’t Starve Pocket Edition, seems to have struggled with adapting the PC controls to a phone interface. A game like this relies heavily on quick inventory management, crafting, movement, and combat, making the control scheme crucial for the overall experience.
Playdigious / Klei Entertainment
I'm more confident with Playdigious handling this project. The studio previously delivered an excellent mobile port of Dead Cells, a RogueVania I enjoyed extensively, so there’s good reason for optimism regarding this version.
What’s new on mobile
Playdigious has updated the interface for mobile devices and introduced touch controls designed for smaller screens. The game will also accommodate controllers, which should be helpful for extended gameplay. New players can adjust the difficulty settings, facilitating exploration of The Constant without experiencing the full intensity the game is known for.

Other mobile features include Game Center achievements, cloud saves across Android and iOS, and optimization for iPhone 17, including the iPhone 17 Pro Max. Cosmetic items will also be available via in-app purchases.
Veteran players will benefit as well. Klei has confirmed that Steam users will be able to transfer their skins to the mobile version via a Klei account. It is currently unknown if players on other platforms, such as Nintendo Switch, will have the same option.

Criterion states that Burnout is not forgotten… but this concerns me
The current success of Battlefield makes EA's choice understandable, yet it leaves a significant gap in arcade racing.
In a recent interview with IGN, Criterion reflected on its 30-year history, from Burnout and Need for Speed to contributing to the revival of Battlefield. The studio emphasized that Burnout retains a vital role in its identity but acknowledged that its future is now strongly aligned with Battlefield. Appropriately, Criterion's new 30th anniversary logo features the tagline: "Criterion: A Battlefield Studio."
From a logical standpoint, that makes sense. Battlefield 6 has quickly become one of EA's most significant success stories in recent years, revitalizing a franchise many had dismissed, achieving the largest launch in Battlefield history, and reminding everyone why the series was once a fierce competitor to Call of Duty. As a Battlefield fan, I couldn't be happier. However, as a Burnout fan, this realization is somewhat disappointing.

New study reveals gaming doesn’t damage your brain, but compulsive habits can
Your 100-hour save file might not be as detrimental as believed
For years, parents have worried that excessive gaming hours harm their teenagers' brains. A new study suggests otherwise. It appears that the duration of gaming isn't what is causing real harm. Researchers found that the hours adolescents spend gaming are linked with small positive associations with certain cognitive skills.
Red flags were more apparent among teenagers exhibiting signs of compulsive or uncontrolled gaming. Thus, individuals who struggle with losing control while gaming, cannot resist the
