The design of the Xperia 10 VIII has been revealed, and Sony is not making significant alterations.
A new leak has surfaced just days before Sony’s anticipated launch of the Xperia 10 VIII.
An image posted by Android Headlines claims to show the Xperia 10 VIII in advance of Sony's event in Japan on August 25. Although Sony has only confirmed the arrival of a new "Xperia Product," recent leaks strongly suggest it will be the Xperia 10 VIII. If the leaked image is correct, it seems that Sony is not making significant changes to the exterior this year.
The resemblance to the Xperia 10 VII is quite evident.
At first glance, there’s very little distinguishing the leaked device from last year’s Xperia 10 VII. It appears that Sony will keep the horizontal camera module, featuring two rear cameras, an LED flash, and the brand’s logo alongside them.
The device is depicted in a light green hue, and the right side maintains the familiar volume buttons and recessed power button, indicating that Sony is likely continuing to use a side-mounted fingerprint scanner. Only the rear and part of the side are visible, meaning the leak does not indicate any changes to the display or front design.
The specifications may also be recognizable.
The design is not the only aspect that could carry over from the Xperia 10 VII. A recent Geekbench listing for the Sony XQ-GH54, believed to be the Xperia 10 VIII, revealed it features a Snapdragon 6 Gen 3 processor with 8GB of RAM.
This marks the same chipset used in the previous year's model. In Geekbench's single-core test, it scored 871 points and 3,028 points in multi-core, suggesting there may not be a significant performance upgrade this time around.
As previously noted, Sony’s event will start at 11 a.m. Japan time on August 25, which is 10 p.m. ET on August 24 for viewers in the U.S. Xperia phones are still available in Japan and select markets like the UK and Germany, but Sony has greatly reduced its smartphone presence and no longer sells Xperia phones officially in the U.S. Therefore, a release of the Xperia 10 VIII in the U.S. appears unlikely.
Sony is expected to provide more details regarding the cameras, battery, pricing, and availability during the event.
