      Ironically, as governments intensify their efforts to control VPNs, these tools become ever more essential for journalists, activists, remote workers, businesses, and ordinary users simply seeking to safeguard their browsing activities on public networks. Indeed, in a recent discussion with the Russian business outlet RBC, Valery Fadeyev, the head of Russia’s Presidential Council for Civil Society and Human Rights, acknowledged that an outright ban on VPNs is "simply impossible."
