Horizon Lock is set to arrive on the budget Galaxy S26 model

Recently, numerous leaks have revealed quite a bit about the Galaxy S26 FE. Much of the specifications sound frustratingly familiar, while the design is, not surprisingly, undergoing only minimal updates. Now, a few hands-on videos have shed light on something that piques my interest significantly.

Two apparent Galaxy S26 FE devices have surfaced in real-world footage, including a clip shared by the TikTok account @_samz02 and another shared on X by Bradley, also known as @VerdeSelvans. Both showcase a purple or violet device featuring Samsung’s new S26-style camera layout, and more importantly, Horizontal Lock seems to be included within the camera application.

Horizontal Lock is a welcome addition

Samsung launched Horizontal Lock as part of the enhanced Super Steady mode in the Galaxy S26 series. This feature utilizes the phone’s motion sensors and stabilization processing to maintain a level horizon, even when the device is tilted or rotated during recording. It allows compatible devices to keep this orientation through a full 360-degree rotation.

This is a smart feature for recording while moving, running, or tracking something that is fast-paced, and Samsung currently markets it for the standard Galaxy S26, Galaxy S26 Plus, and Galaxy S26 Ultra. The functionality appearing on what seems to be an S26 FE implies that Samsung is not restricting this feature to its higher-end models.

      The modest specifications remain intact

The leaked videos also reveal a 120Hz display, One UI 9 on Android 17, and a 4,900mAh battery. One clip notes the presence of an Exynos 2500 processor, 45W fast charging, and a camera setup of 50MP, 12MP, and 8MP on the rear. Earlier leaks suggest that the S26 FE may borrow a significant amount from the Galaxy S25 FE. Currently, the S25 FE features a 6.7-inch 120Hz AMOLED display, a 4,900mAh battery, 45W charging, and a rear camera system with 50MP + 12MP + 8MP. The anticipated Exynos 2500 is expected to replace the S25 FE’s Exynos 2400.

Thus, software enhancements like Horizontal Lock add to its appeal. The FE concept has always revolved around providing flagship experiences at a lower cost, and incorporating one of the S26 series’ superior camera features into the S26 FE aligns perfectly with that philosophy. With nearly finished models already appearing in what seems to be a retail environment, Samsung might be preparing for a forthcoming release.

A phone you can repair yourself is finally debuting in the US

A device designed to be fixed rather than replaced has officially arrived in the United States.

Most smartphone buyers in the US tend to stick with well-known brands such as Apple, Samsung, and Google. While these companies undeniably produce excellent smartphones, they often lack in terms of repairability.

If you break the display, repair costs can exceed $300. Want to replace the battery? It will set you back at least $100, and even if you’re willing to pay, you can’t repair it yourself.

The best amusing and practical Siri commands for iOS and macOS

There was a time when Siri was the leading voice assistant. However, it lost its place to competitors like Google Assistant and Alexa. With the emergence of AI assistants such as Google Gemini and ChatGPT Voice, the competition has grown even more intense.

Fortunately, after years of stagnation, Apple has finally dedicated the necessary attention to Siri. While there’s still much room for improvement, I can genuinely say that I am enjoying using this updated version of Siri, and it has become increasingly beneficial in my everyday life.
