Microsoft is introducing original Xbox games to PC through backward compatibility.
Four classic Xbox games have just made their debut on PC.
Your nostalgic Xbox collection has found a new platform. Microsoft has introduced Xbox Backward Compatibility for PC, allowing you to enjoy classic original Xbox games on Windows and handheld devices for the first time.
Which Xbox games are available on PC?
The program launches today with four classic titles. You can now play Blinx: The Time Sweeper, Conker: Live and Reloaded, Crimson Skies: High Road to Revenge, and Fuzion Frenzy on compatible PCs and handhelds such as the Xbox Ally and Xbox Ally X.
Each game can be purchased separately, and all four are included in every tier of Xbox Game Pass. If you possess a digital license for these games on console, that license will transfer directly to your PC or handheld. With Xbox Play Anywhere and Xbox Cloud Gaming, your saves and access are synchronized across console, cloud, PC, and handheld.
Here are the minimum and recommended specifications provided by Microsoft:

What enhancements are included with these classic titles?
These are not simple emulated versions. Players can expect real PC upgrades, such as up to 4x resolution upscaling, VSync support, fullscreen and windowed display options, anisotropic filtering, and improved anti-aliasing. There are also customizable language and audio settings available.
However, there is one notable absence. Xbox achievements, a highly requested feature for years, are not included at launch. Microsoft has stated that they will be added to these four games and other future backward-compatible titles through an update later this year.
This launch coincides with a significant time for Xbox, following a series of layoffs and studio closures. It is also part of larger initiatives, including the forthcoming Project Helix console and a program designed to convert physical game collections into digital licenses.
These four titles are merely the starting point. If Microsoft maintains this momentum, your entire Xbox gaming history might eventually be accessible wherever you choose to play.

Ghost Recon might finally be making the comeback that fans have been eagerly anticipating.
If you're a Ghost Recon enthusiast, you've likely grown accustomed to a certain routine over the past few years: waiting for rumors to be confirmed, leaks to be addressed, and for Ubisoft to provide any updates about the future of this major tactical shooter franchise. Fortunately, it seems that the wait is nearing an end.
Ubisoft has announced that it will disclose Ghost Recon news on August 6, which marks the series' 25th anniversary. This announcement came shortly after new leaks began surfacing online, prompting the company to release a brief message indicating that more information is forthcoming.
The rise of AI in game development carries a downside: fewer opportunities for entry-level positions.
While solo creators are flourishing with tools like Claude Code and Copilot, entry-level job roles in game development are dwindling.
AI is empowering an individual to create a game more easily than ever, which is a positive development for creativity, and in many aspects, it truly is. However, there is a drawback. As generative AI tools enable solo developers and small studios to accomplish more with fewer personnel, this shift is making it more challenging for writers, artists, concept creators, and junior programmers looking to enter the gaming industry.
AI is providing solo developers with remarkable capabilities.
