A last-minute leak from Samsung reveals details about all of its upcoming foldable smartphones.
Approximately five days prior to the Galaxy Unpacked event, well-known leaker Evan Blass (known as @evleaks) has released what seem to be the official promotional images for all the eighth-generation Galaxy Z foldables.
For those who are not up to speed, Samsung is anticipated to introduce three foldables: the Fold 8 Ultra (the successor to the Fold 7), the Fold 8 (featuring a new, wider, shorter design), and the Flip 8 (the successor to the Flip 7).
What do the leaked promotional images disclose?
To begin with, let’s discuss the Fold 8 Ultra, which is the priciest and most advanced foldable flagship among them. The tipster has shared multiple images of the device, likely in the Violet Shadow finish, confirming all previous renders and leaks about its tall and narrow body structure along with the cover-screen design.
The speculation regarding the 50MP ultrawide camera appears to be accurate, as the leak aligns with this information and provides a comprehensive view of the Fold 8 Ultra’s complete camera configuration. Instead of the 4,400 mAh battery found in the Fold 7, the Fold 8 Ultra might include a larger 5,000 mAh cell, capable of sustaining up to 27 hours of video playback.
Other images illustrate the phone’s contextual suggestions feature, the familiar 8K video recording seen on the Fold 7, a cover screen likely protected by glass, and the inner display fully opened.
What does the leak indicate about the Fold 8?
Next, we have the Galaxy Z Fold 8, or Samsung’s wider foldable, showcased in what is likely the Lavender finish. The images display the device being held, providing a closer examination of the new form factor.
The leak also matches earlier rumors of a dual 50MP camera system on the rear (primary and ultrawide) along with two 10MP sensors (for the main and cover screens). The tipster also included a promotional image of the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 5 for Galaxy chipset.
One of the images mentions that the device is rated for up to 26 hours of video playback. Notably, other leaks indicate the phone's battery capacity could be around 4,800 mAh.
Flip 8 remains largely the same
The Galaxy Z Flip 8’s promotional materials showcase the purported clamshell foldable in pink. Although no new information is revealed, we gain an insight into the phone’s design and proportions.
One image emphasizes the camera setup, featuring a 50MP primary camera, a 12MP ultrawide, and a 10MP selfie camera, which essentially mirrors the configuration of the Flip 7. Additionally, other features, such as the edge-to-edge cover screen and the 4,300 mAh battery, may likely remain the same.
All devices are expected to make their debut at Samsung’s Galaxy Unpacked event, slated for July 22, 2026.
