**Quick Review**
The LG SIGNATURE DLEX9900S is the dryer component of LG’s premium laundry duo, making a strong first impression similar to its washer counterpart, the WM9900HSA, which I reviewed earlier this week. This dryer features a 9.0-cubic-foot Brushed Platinum Steel design with a 7-inch touchscreen in place of traditional knobs. Its drum accommodates king-size comforters or dog beds seamlessly, and the TurboSteam option can de-wrinkle a shirt in less than 12 minutes. When paired with the matching WM9900HSA washer, they communicate with one another; the washer conveys load information, the dryer selects the appropriate cycle, and all you need to do is press start. After several months of use, I can confidently say this is the most enjoyable dryer I’ve ever experienced.
However, it’s not the most intelligent option available, which is crucial since LG markets this dryer based on its smart features. The AI Sensor Dry functionality (which detects fabric type and moisture and adjusts time and temperature accordingly) generally performs well, but not consistently. During testing, some sensor-driven cycles concluded with loads that were nearly dry, requiring additional time or a second cycle. For a dryer priced at $2,099 (as of July 3, 2026, down from an MSRP of $2,499), that variance impacts its rating. Another concern was the occasional failure to transfer load information to the dryer, likely due to delays in accessing the dryer, causing the washer to turn off and lose the information.
If you're purchasing the WM9900HSA washer, pairing it with the DLEX9900S is nearly imperative, and you will not regret it. On its own, it is a remarkable, spacious, and beautifully designed electric dryer, though its AI could use more refinement. I absolutely love it.

### LG SIGNATURE DLEX9900S Design and Build
Similar to the washer, the DLEX9900S resembles high-end furniture. My daughter even remarked that it looks like the “Cybertruck of dryers,” which I believe is a compliment. Its Brushed Platinum Steel exterior, tempered-glass door, and minimalist control panel differ greatly from most dryers on the market. Upon close inspection, the fit and finish are solid, and I did not notice any dents after extended use. Inside, it hosts a NeveRust stainless steel drum with an interior light. The door can be reversed, allowing for flexible side-by-side configurations, and the lint filter is conveniently located at the entrance of the drum for easy access and cleaning.
The 7-inch LCD touchscreen is similar to that of the washer—responsive, clear, and quick to navigate. It features an editable cycle list to prioritize your preferred programs. However, it shares the washer’s drawback; in bright sunlight, it can be challenging to read. If the dryer is near a sunlit window, be prepared to cover the screen with your hand occasionally. I hope LG will implement a firmware update to increase the brightness.
### LG SIGNATURE DLEX9900S Installation and Venting
As with the WM9900HSA washer, LG provided professional installation for me. The DLEX9900S is a conventional vented dryer that requires a 240V outlet and ducting to the outdoors. It comes with 4-way venting options for flexible placement, and
