Pixi Garden aims to enhance messaging by transforming your texts into animated AI performances.
If you've ever felt that your text messages lacked flair, you might want to explore this new app. Rather than sending a dull block of text or a voice note, Pixi Garden allows you to dispatch animated AI characters that convey your message in an engaging manner.
What is Pixi Garden exactly?
A Pixi is essentially an animated 3D character that you can send directly to someone’s DM instead of writing a message. Instead of reading your words, the recipient watches this character enter, deliver a performance, and share your message.
The company behind it, Pixi Garden, refers to this idea as “agentic media,” and it’s something quite unique. The app enables you to both send and receive these characters, and they aren’t limited to just messaging.
You can have these characters deliver jokes or play games like Tic Tac Toe and Whack-A-Mole. Currently, the app features three Pixis: a cat, a robot, and an animated envelope. My only complaint is that only the animated envelope can send voice messages, while the other two can only handle text.
How do you send a Pixi?
One of the biggest advantages is that Pixi doesn’t require you to download a new messaging app. It integrates directly within the Messages app, with plans to support WhatsApp and other platforms in the future. This is a smart strategy, as people are usually reluctant to switch platforms just to send animated characters.
During my testing, the messages I sent worked seamlessly, though there was a minor issue with the talking envelope that resolved itself after a few tries. Since the app is new, it may take some time for developers to implement enough features to make it a daily tool.
The concept is excellent, and I enjoyed my brief experience with it, eagerly anticipating future developments. The app is currently available for iPhone and iPad and can be downloaded from the App Store.

Instagram recently launched its Muse AI, an image and video generation service. Although it appears to be a valuable tool for creators to realize their creative visions, it also has a concerning aspect that all Instagram users should be aware of.
Even if you're not worried about the proliferation of AI-generated content this service may enable, you should be concerned that others can utilize your images and videos for such purposes. Yes, it’s true: with Muse AI, anyone can take your Instagram photos and videos to create AI-generated content.
