DuRoBo has introduced its Smart Dial ePaper reader and a compact page-turning remote globally.
The Dutch ePaper company DuRoBo has launched two of its products for purchase in the US and UK. The Krono, a 6.13-inch ePaper focus hub aimed at providing a distraction-free reading, thinking, and writing experience, is now available on Amazon for $279.99.
In addition, DuRoBo has unveiled Moodi, a lightweight Bluetooth page-turning remote, priced at $30.99 on Amazon and the DuRoBo website. For those monitoring the growth of the e-ink device market, this pair deserves attention.
What distinguishes Krono from a conventional e-reader?
Krono features a 6.13-inch Carta 1200 ePaper display with a resolution of 300 PPI, an anti-glare etched screen, and an adjustable front light for pleasant reading any time of day. It is equipped with an octa-core processor, 6GB RAM, 128GB storage, and a 3,950mAh battery, running on Android with full access to the Google Play Store.
The device offers more than just reading capabilities. Its Smart Dial functionality allows users to scroll, turn pages, adjust brightness, and launch Spark—an AI-driven idea vault that records and transcribes voice notes and creates summaries. Libby AI can respond to inquiries, summarize news, and provide creative prompts, while features like a built-in browser, wireless file transfers, and compatibility with Kindle, Kobo Books, and Google Play Books enhance its functionality.
Moodi enhances hands-free reading
DuRoBo is also rolling out Moodi, a lightweight Bluetooth remote designed to prevent thumb fatigue during prolonged reading sessions. Weighing only 18 grams, it includes six interchangeable magnetic emoji button caps and pairs effortlessly with Krono for hands-free page turning. It provides three modes—Reading, Multimedia, and Browsing—making it beneficial for more than just e-books.
Moodi is compatible with most Android apps that utilize volume key page turning, including Kindle and Google Play Books, and can last up to two months on average use. Together, these devices create a more comprehensive distraction-free reading experience.

Amazon discreetly updates its Fire HD 10 tablet with a substantial 1GB of RAM
Amazon has quietly refreshed one of its most sought-after tablets, but not in the anticipated manner. Instead of unveiling an entirely new Fire tablet following its longest product hiatus in years, the company has released a slightly upgraded version of the existing Fire HD 10 with an additional gigabyte of RAM.
The update is minimal on paper, yet it comes at an intriguing time. Amazon has not launched a new Fire tablet since the Fire HD 8 refresh in 2024, and there have been no successors for products like the Fire 7 and Fire Max 11. Instead of broadening its lineup, Amazon seems to be prolonging the lifespan of an aging device with a minor hardware enhancement.

Companion mode remains, while primary mode is introduced. WhatsApp on iPad has just become considerably more functional.
If you've used WhatsApp on your iPad, you're likely aware of its limitations. Setting it up requires a primary device, you cannot share live locations, and the broadcast lists feature is inaccessible.
This is set to change with WhatsApp’s latest update, which grants iPad users an overdue upgrade. Rather than merely acting as an extension of your iPhone, it will soon function as your main device.

A refresh of the iPad Pro might arrive in 2027 with improved cooling, but without a design overhaul
Apple may be introducing vapor chamber cooling in the iPad Pro by 2027.
The upcoming iPad Pro may not feature significant aesthetic changes, but it could receive a highly beneficial upgrade for such a slim tablet: enhanced cooling.
As reported by Bloomberg, Apple is testing four new iPad Pro models slated for spring 2027. These tablets likely will retain the current 11-inch and 13-inch display sizes, focusing primarily on internal enhancements, including faster processors. Apple is also reportedly trialing a vapor chamber cooling system for the iPad Pro, which could help maintain performance levels and mitigate overheating concerns.
