OpenClaw is now available on Android and iOS, transforming your phone into a control center for your AI agent.
OpenClaw's mobile applications provide chat, voice, and approval functionalities directly on your smartphone.
OpenClaw, the open-source AI agent that operates entirely on your personal computer, has now released native apps for both Android and iOS. The app does not execute the AI itself; rather, it connects to a private gateway that you configure on your Mac, PC, or Linux device, transforming your smartphone into a secure remote control for all the capabilities of that gateway.
How OpenClaw operates on your mobile device
You can link your phone to the gateway via a QR code or setup code, which takes just a few minutes. Once linked, you can communicate with OpenClaw directly or switch to Talk mode for real-time voice interactions. Any action the agent wishes to perform on your gateway must first receive your approval.

Additionally, you can share text, links, and media directly from your phone into OpenClaw, and selectively activate device features such as your camera, screen, location, photos, contacts, calendar, and reminders. Push notifications keep you informed about workflow status even when the app is in the background.
What distinguishes OpenClaw is its open-source nature, allowing you to examine its functionality or even modify parts of it. This sets it apart from proprietary AI apps like ChatGPT or Gemini, where much of the backend is obscured.
Comparing the iOS and Android versions of OpenClaw
OpenClaw
The iOS version requires iOS 18 or later and is completely free, while the Android version mandates Android 12 or higher. Initial feedback indicates that the two apps do not share the same level of polish.
The interface of the Android app has been described as somewhat unrefined, while the iOS app appears notably more polished and is categorized as a Productivity app that collects no user data as per its App Store description.
The increasing popularity of OpenClaw has caught the attention of the industry, and Google is reportedly developing its own 24/7 personal agent to compete with it.

AI browsers like Perplexity Comet can be fooled into revealing your password through BioShocking exploit
Recent findings by security researchers have revealed a peculiar method to deceive AI browsers into disclosing your passwords. They successfully manipulated AI browser agents into revealing sensitive information such as saved passwords, session cookies, and private tokens, presenting the theft as part of an innocuous "game." This technique, named BioShocking, is inspired by the popular video game BioShock, where a brainwashed character is led to accept a false reality. Once an AI browser falls victim to the ruse, it ceases to adhere to its own safety protocols.
Google Play’s latest speed enhancement extends beyond smartphones

This update addresses an essential issue for Android, aiming for smoother app installations on diverse hardware. The changes focus on the Play Store's infrastructure, emphasizing stability, performance, and improved memory management during the app installation process. The installation pathway now needs to function effectively on phones, tablets, Wear OS devices, Google TV, Android TV, Android Auto, and vehicles operating on Android Automotive.
