Samsung might postpone the release of the Galaxy Watch Classic this year, while the standard version and Ultra model could see the introduction of new color options.
Samsung's July Watch announcement has now become more predictable, which may not be great news for everyone.
Samsung is preparing to unveil the Galaxy Watch 9 and Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 during its July event, alongside its next-generation foldable smartphones. A recent series of leaks from @GalaxyTechie on X (via 9to5Google) has provided us with a clearer understanding of both devices.
Fans of Samsung who were hoping for a Classic model with a rotating bezel this year may find themselves disappointed, while those interested in the standard or Ultra versions might find some unexpected features.
So, what do the latest leaks reveal?
According to the post on X, the Galaxy Watch 9 series may not feature a Classic variant, contradicting an earlier tip from May that hinted at its development (via Android Authority). This is disappointing for many, especially considering the popularity of the rotating bezel over the years.
On the other hand, the Galaxy Watch Ultra 2 appears to have a noticeably different design compared to its predecessor. It may adopt a boxier form, thinner bezels, and a more subtle side button, which will transition from an all-orange design to an orange outline.
It is anticipated to come with a larger battery and utilize the rumored Snapdragon Wear Elite chipset. Together, these enhancements could extend the device’s battery life beyond two days.
The tipster also provided renders showcasing Samsung’s revamped Health app, along with what seems to be a new watch face picker, giving the Watch 9 series a refreshed interior to match its exterior updates.
What about the colors?
New color options have surfaced, though it's uncertain whether they apply exclusively to the Galaxy Watch 9, the Ultra 2, or both.
The colors identified are Black, Silver, and Beige. However, Beige isn’t entirely novel for Samsung, as the Galaxy Watch 7 and Galaxy Watch 6 already offered cream and beige finishes.
Samsung's Galaxy Watch shipments fell by 28% in early 2026, making this a challenging year for the series (via Counterpoint).

Apple’s era of wearable intelligence is set to begin in 2027, with cameras being a significant feature.
Apple's future in wearables is becoming clearer, and it appears that cameras will play a central role. Bloomberg's Mark Gurman reports that AirPods with cameras and Apple's inaugural smart glasses are on the agenda for 2027. While they might seem like regular accessories at first glance, both products could significantly enhance Apple Intelligence's ability to perceive the environment of its users in real-time.
Your AirPods might start paying attention.
Tiny earbuds are often blamed for antisocial behaviors, yet they have also inadvertently become vital accessibility tools for those navigating a challenging world.
Every day, I walk to the gym with my AirPods in, primarily for practical reasons. They allow me to control one small aspect of my experience before the city bombards me with a cacophony of sounds: horns, engines, chatter, heat, gym music leaking through the door, and someone’s phone blaring videos. A city rarely approaches quietly.
This narrative is often overlooked when earbuds are regarded as evidence that people no longer care about their surroundings. While silence in public can occasionally seem rude, it is often a necessary act of self-preservation—deciding how much noise I can handle before my day truly begins.
There will be gentle notifications, and each will carry a message.
The future cyborg might not appear superhuman. Instead, it may look weary, efficiently optimized, and subtly corrected by several devices before noon.
The house may be silent, yet you’re already beginning to receive notifications. Soon, you will awaken at 6:43 am.
The sleep tracker indicates poor recovery. The watch suggests a lighter schedule for the day, which is considerate, though not particularly insightful. Among the array of sensors, last night’s events have been condensed into a judgment. There hasn’t been sufficient sleep or rest, and the day has yet to start demanding anything.
