LG has recently unveiled a 1000Hz gaming monitor that might provide you with a significant advantage in FPS games.
The LG UltraGear 25G590B is the first Full HD gaming monitor globally to feature a native refresh rate of 1000Hz.
LG has presented the UltraGear 25G590B, marking the launch of the first Full HD gaming monitor with a native refresh rate of 1000Hz. This 24.5-inch display is tailored specifically for competitive gaming, where quicker visual updates can enhance reaction times in FPS games.
Engineered for competitive FPS, beyond mere benchmarks
The 25G590B achieves its 1000Hz performance natively at a resolution of FHD (1920×1080), distinguishing it from dual-mode monitors, such as TCL’s recently announced 640Hz panel, which necessitate adjustments in resolution or screen size to reach peak refresh rates. This allows for consistent visual conditions during training and competitive play without changing settings.

This monitor combines its high refresh rate with LG’s Motion Blur Reduction Pro technology, which enhances the clarity of fast-moving objects, making it easier to track lateral movements during high-intensity gameplay. Additionally, the monitor features an IPS panel with a low-reflection coating to ensure accurate color reproduction and diminished glare.
LG has introduced two AI functionalities: AI Scene Optimization automatically modifies picture settings based on the genre of the game, while AI Sound enhances spatial audio and improves the clarity of in-game communication when used with compatible headsets.
Tailored for the esports environment
According to LG, the 24.5-inch screen size is a deliberate selection, as it is the most common format for professional esports setups. This size keeps crucial visual components within the player’s natural field of vision, minimizing the need for excessive eye movement.
The minimalist stand boasts a compact base to maximize space for mouse movement and includes calibration indicators that allow players to accurately replicate their preferred height, swivel, and tilt settings across different setups.
So far, LG has not disclosed pricing or a release date for the 25G590B. The company anticipates that the gaming monitor will be available in select markets during the latter half of 2026, with further market availability to follow subsequently.
