LG has just revealed a 1000Hz gaming monitor that may provide a significant advantage in FPS games.
The UltraGear 25G590B marks the debut of the world's first Full HD gaming monitor equipped with a native 1000Hz refresh rate.
LG has introduced the UltraGear 25G590B as the first Full HD gaming monitor globally that features a native 1000Hz refresh rate. Designed specifically for competitive gaming, the 24.5-inch display ensures that faster visual updates can enhance reaction times, particularly in first-person shooter (FPS) games.
Engineered for competitive FPS rather than mere benchmarks
The 25G590B achieves its 1000Hz capability at the FHD (1920×1080) resolution, distinguishing itself from dual-mode monitors, such as TCL’s newly launched 640Hz display, which necessitate changes in resolution or screen size to reach peak refresh rates. This allows users to train and compete under stable visual conditions without needing to adjust settings.

The monitor combines its high refresh rate with LG’s Motion Blur Reduction Pro technology, which sharpens images of fast-moving objects, making it easier to track movements during high-intensity gaming sessions. It features an IPS panel with a low-reflection coating to ensure accurate color reproduction and diminished glare.
LG has also included two AI functionalities: AI Scene Optimization that automatically modifies picture settings in accordance with the game genre, and AI Sound, which enhances spatial audio and clarity of in-game communication when paired with compatible headsets.
Tailored for esports environments
According to LG, the choice of a 24.5-inch screen is intentional, as it is the standard size commonly found in professional esports scenarios. This design maintains essential visual components within the player’s natural line of sight, minimizing excessive eye movement.
The sleek stand features a compact base to maximize the space available for mouse movements, along with calibration indicators that help players easily replicate their desired height, tilt, and swivel settings across various setups.
LG has yet to disclose the pricing or release date for the 25G590B. The company anticipates launching the gaming monitor in select markets during the second half of 2026, with further availability in additional regions to follow afterward.
