X features a History tab that allows you to revisit all the cursed items saved throughout the years.
The new feature integrates Bookmarks, long videos, Articles, and Likes into a single location.
X is finally providing users with a specific spot to store and revisit their saved content. The platform is introducing a new History tab on iOS that brings together Bookmarks, long videos, Articles, and Likes in one place.
One location for all your saved items
Previously, these content types were dispersed throughout various sections of the app, making it easy to misplace the items you intended to return to. Bookmarks were located under a different tab, Likes were hidden in your profile, and there was no unified area to access long videos or articles you had started but not completed. The History tab merges everything, allowing you to continue where you left off without searching through your feed or profile.
Today, we’re launching a new History tab on iOS to help you keep track of all your favorite content on X. Bookmarks, Long Videos, Articles, and Likes will be housed here, ensuring you can easily return and continue watching or reading. The Timeline moves quickly, so we hope this... pic.twitter.com/4hUGQS6KJf— Nikita Bier (@nikitabier) May 12, 2026
Nikita Bier, X's head of product, announced the feature in a recent update, emphasizing that the rapidly moving timeline makes it challenging to stay updated on long-form content. The History tab aims to address this by providing a more permanent location for longer videos and articles, though it is currently available only on iOS. X has not disclosed when it will roll out to the Android version.
The broader perspective
The History tab aligns with X's wider goal of becoming an all-encompassing app. The platform has been enhancing its Articles feature and promoting longer, higher resolution video uploads to compete with YouTube and similar video-centric platforms for creators' attention. Offering users a simpler way to locate and return to this content is a practical move towards enhancing format viability on the platform.
One drawback of the History tab is that it does not differentiate between content types. The long-form article you bookmarked with good intentions will share space with every erratic post you liked at an ungodly hour. Consider yourself advised.
