      Samsung has begun rolling out One UI 8.5 to a wider range of Galaxy smartphones and tablets, incorporating features that initially launched with the Galaxy S26 series in February 2026.       The update will be available for the Galaxy S25 series, Galaxy S25 FE, Galaxy S24 series, Galaxy S24 FE, Galaxy Z Fold 7, Galaxy Z Flip 7, Galaxy Z Fold 6, Galaxy Z Flip 6, Galaxy Tab S11 series, and Galaxy Tab S10 series. For users with these older flagship devices, One UI 8.5 offers Samsung’s latest Galaxy AI features without the need to upgrade to new hardware.

      What new AI features are included in the update?

      One UI 8.5 introduces various communication and productivity tools not included in One UI 8.0. Eligible devices will gain access to AI Call Screening, which can answer calls from unknown numbers on behalf of the user, inquire about the purpose of the call, and provide a live transcript to help users decide whether to answer. Additionally, live voicemail transcripts allow users to read messages as they are being recorded.

      Samsung has also introduced a new feature to its keyboard named Now Nudge, which suggests calendar entries, helpful facts, or relevant actions based on the ongoing chat, enabling users to act on information without switching applications. Bixy has been enhanced with new capabilities, allowing it to perform multi-step tasks across different apps, such as locating a specific photo and emailing it to a contact.

      The One UI 8.5 update also includes new AI photo editing features with the Creative Studio app and Text-to-Edit Photo Assist. Users can simply input their desired changes, like altering the background or adding objects, instead of manually editing photos. The Object Transfer feature enables users to shift people or objects from one picture to another directly in the gallery.

      For personalization, the update features AI Weather Effects, which create dynamic lock screen wallpaper animations based on local weather conditions such as rain or snow. As always, Samsung notes that the availability and support for features may vary depending on the region, market, and device model.
