Narwhal Labs secures €22.9 million in funding and introduces DeepBlue OS.

The Bristol-based firm, parent to Narwhal AI, is developing an operating system for autonomous customer interactions across various channels including voice, SMS, email, and WhatsApp. CEO Luke Sartain previously led Narwhal Media Group.

Narwhal Labs, an AI infrastructure company located in Bristol, has secured €22.9 million while simultaneously launching DeepBlue OS, its platform for autonomous communications.

As the parent company of Narwhal AI, Narwhal Labs focuses on creating autonomous communication infrastructure for regulated industries across voice, SMS, email, and WhatsApp channels.

Narwhal Labs characterizes its offering as an operating system designed for autonomous customer conversations, which addresses functions such as inbound reception, prompt lead responses, and outbound prospecting through a unified multi-channel system.

The leadership of the company includes Luke Sartain, its founder and CEO, who previously established Narwhal Media Group, a Bristol-based digital marketing technology firm he expanded through several funding rounds, centering on data-driven marketing automation.

The shift from Narwhal Media Group to Narwhal Labs signifies a move towards AI infrastructure; the focus has transitioned from marketing services to the development of the foundational autonomous systems required for large-scale commercial conversations. Narwhal Labs has earned ISO 27001 certification and SOC 2 compliance, essential for the regulated industry clients it aims to serve.

The platform automates what Sartain describes as multi-step commercial workflows: this involves not merely sending messages but also qualifying leads, addressing inbound inquiries, pursuing outbound prospects, and effectively escalating or closing matters at the right time, all without needing human intervention at each phase.

The introduction of DeepBlue OS formalizes this capability as a distinct product. Sartain has publicly contended that agentic AI systems are already well-equipped to handle a significant portion of structured executive and commercial tasks, asserting that companies developing this infrastructure now are preparing for a major transformation in how businesses manage customer-facing operations.
