Thinking AI can improve your dating life? This actor's experience suggests otherwise.
This actor delegated his dating life to AI and received a dose of reality instead
If you're looking for AI to save your dating life, Rhik Samadder's recent experiment might be the wake-up call you need.
In his latest firsthand account, Samadder opted to allow AI to take charge of his romantic endeavors as part of a broader six-week trial. He entrusted various aspects of his daily routine to AI chatbots, such as crafting his dating profile, assisting with messages, picking out outfits, and even providing conversation starters during an actual date. However, the outcome was less about romantic success and more akin to a social disaster.
How bad could it get?
The initial red flag appeared early on. Samadder had the AI generate his dating profile, resulting in a polished and quirky description about being a “creative type with nerd firmware” and offering “plot twists.” This immediately set off alarms, but the unease only increased when the chatbot began guiding the actual conversation.
To his credit, Samadder was candid with his date about the experiment. He explained that AI would assist in writing his messages, selecting the venue, and providing conversational prompts. She was open to the idea, which is already more accommodating than what most people would likely be.
The real issue was not the language itself, but the overall vibe.
Once the date commenced, the chatbot's suggestions became excruciatingly awkward. Samadder complimented his date's hair by saying it radiated “pure A24 energy,” only to have to turn away and ask the AI for clarification when she looked puzzled. Later, he attempted another AI-generated remark about television pioneer John Logie Baird residing in her neighborhood, which again fell flat.
His date quickly identified the problem. While she noted that the AI-generated messages appeared emotionally intelligent, they lacked authenticity. She summed it up perfectly by stating, “You sound like a therapist who’s been struck off.”
The conclusion is evident. AI can emulate confidence, but it cannot foster genuine chemistry.

If endless scrolling wasn’t tedious enough, TikTok now features a hidden emoji game in DMs
TikTok has sneakily introduced a secret emoji game within DMs to keep users even more engaged. This mini-game is currently active and functions in both one-on-one messages and group chats. It means that the app now has another tactic to ensure users stick around, even when they’ve technically finished watching videos.
This feature is precisely what you’d anticipate from a platform that has mastered the ability to turn "just five more minutes" into an hour of scrolling.

How to update your old Gmail username?
I understand that your Gmail username from a decade ago might have seemed acceptable at the time. Back then, the internet landscape was different, and selecting a quirky, silly, or random email handle didn’t seem like a big deal. However, giving that outdated username to someone now can feel awkward. When they inquire why you're still using it, your response may carry a hint of embarrassment or regret.
The good news is that you no longer have to stick with it. Gmail now allows you to change your old username and choose something new, something that actually reflects the more professional, mature, or simply cooler version of yourself that you've become.

WhatsApp support for CarPlay is coming soon
As a dedicated CarPlay user for years, I think this update is long overdue. WhatsApp is finally developing a dedicated app for CarPlay, and it's about time. Up until now, the only interaction I could have was seeing notifications on the dashboard, lacking any real engagement beyond that. The caveat is that it is still being tested and is currently only available to iOS beta users. So, while it’s on the way, we’re not quite there yet.
Avoiding complete conversations.
