The Galaxy S26 Plus might resemble its predecessor more than you anticipate.
Leaks indicate that the Galaxy S26 Plus may keep the same battery and display as the Galaxy S25 Plus.
Samsung's forthcoming Galaxy S26 series is anticipated to debut late next month, with leaks suggesting minor enhancements throughout. However, the mid-tier Galaxy S26 Plus could experience the least modifications, according to recent reports.
Earlier this month, a certification listing for the device implied that it might feature the same 4,900mAh battery as its predecessor. A new report from The Elec now suggests that the Galaxy S26 Plus could also maintain the 6.66-inch QHD+ AMOLED display utilized in the Galaxy S25 Plus.
Sources close to Samsung’s plans shared with the publication that the company initially planned to equip the device with the OLED screen designed for the Galaxy S26 Edge. However, after reportedly scrapping the Edge variant last October and with only a few months left to prepare, it chose to go with a "verified specification" for the Plus model.
In comparison, the base Galaxy S26 is projected to have a new 6.27-inch display, slightly larger than the 6.16-inch screen of its predecessor. The Elec further mentions that Samsung began manufacturing components for the Plus variant last month, and the device is set to start production alongside the base variant this month. The Ultra model reportedly began production last month.
The Galaxy S26 Plus may face challenges in the market
With rumors indicating that the Galaxy S26 Plus will offer fewer enhancements than its fellow models in Samsung’s upcoming flagship series, it will be interesting to see how it performs in terms of sales against its counterparts. Considering that the devices are expected to have a higher price point compared to last year’s models due to increased component costs, the Plus model might struggle to convince consumers to upgrade, particularly if the base Galaxy S26 and Ultra present more noticeable advancements.
Leaks suggest that Samsung plans to reveal the Galaxy S26 series at a Galaxy Unpacked event on February 25, so the wait for all the details will not be long.
