The Galaxy S26 Plus might closely resemble its predecessor more than you anticipate.
Leaks indicate that the Galaxy S26 Plus may keep the same battery and display as the Galaxy S25 Plus.
Samsung’s forthcoming Galaxy S26 lineup is anticipated to be released late next month, with leaks suggesting minor updates throughout. However, the mid-range Galaxy S26 Plus might experience the least amount of changes, according to recent reports.
Earlier this month, a certification listing for the device implied that it could feature the same 4,900mAh battery as the previous model. A new report from The Elec now suggests that the Galaxy S26 Plus might also maintain the 6.66-inch QHD+ AMOLED display from the Galaxy S25 Plus.
Sources acquainted with Samsung’s strategies informed the publication that the company initially planned to equip the device with the OLED panel designed for the Galaxy S26 Edge. However, after reportedly canceling the Edge variant last October with only a few months left to prepare, it ultimately chose a “verified specification” for the Plus model.
In comparison, the entry-level Galaxy S26 is expected to come with a new 6.27-inch display, slightly larger than the 6.16-inch screen of its predecessor. The Elec additionally notes that Samsung commenced manufacturing parts for the Plus variant last month, and the device should enter production alongside the base model this month. The Ultra variant reportedly began production last month.
The Galaxy S26 Plus could face challenges in the market
Given the Galaxy S26 Plus is rumored to offer fewer enhancements than the other models in Samsung’s upcoming flagship series, it will be interesting to see how it performs in terms of sales compared to its counterparts. Since the devices are anticipated to be more expensive than last year’s models due to increasing component costs, the Plus model might struggle to persuade buyers to upgrade, particularly if the base Galaxy S26 and Ultra versions provide more prominent improvements.
Leaks suggest that Samsung plans to unveil the Galaxy S26 series at a Galaxy Unpacked event on February 25, so we won’t have to wait long for the full details.
