The first glasses-free 3D 6K monitor in the world has been launched.
Samsung's Odyssey 3D combines a razor-sharp 6K display with eye-tracking technology to bring back glasses-free 3D, making it an ambitious and experimental offering that is notably hard to overlook.
As CES 2026 approaches, South Korean technology firm Samsung has unveiled what it touts as the "first 6K glasses-free 3D monitor in the industry." This 32-inch monitor features an IPS panel, supports a maximum refresh rate of 165Hz, and includes HDMI 2.1 and DP 2.1 ports, with its standout feature being glasses-free 3D rendering.
In contrast to conventional 3D screens that rely on bulky glasses (as well as a good amount of patience), Samsung’s 6K 3D Odyssey G9 (G90XH) employs a sophisticated lenticular lens system along with eye-tracking cameras to gauge your gaze direction and adjust the perspective for each eye, creating a sense of depth that gives a 3D appearance.
Samsung's press release also indicates that PC gamers can experience 3D effects "developed in partnership with game studios." Games like The First Berserker: Khazan, Lies of P: Overture, and Stellar Blade "provide enhanced dimensionality that improves terrain, distance, and object separation," surpassing traditional 2D gameplay.
For years, 3D displays have fallen into the category of "impressive demo, awkward reality." While they have been seen as a fun novelty, they have lacked the convenience required for everyday use. However, the 6K 3D Odyssey G9 (G90XH) shifts this narrative.
This monitor not only delivers additional depth without the need for cumbersome glasses but also boasts an ultra-fast refresh rate of 165Hz (which can reach 330Hz in Dual Mode) and a 1ms gray-to-gray response time, making it an excellent option for gamers, developers, or creators seeking a high-performance, ultra-responsive display.
In addition to being appealing to gamers and creators, this new 3D monitor could attract designers, architects, and 3D modelers who could leverage its depth perception for better design visualization. For others, it could serve as a means to watch 3D films and similar compatible content.
Currently, Samsung has not revealed the launch date or price for the 6K 3D Odyssey G9 (G90XH), which often suggests that it will be "expensive and not available immediately." However, similar to previous Odyssey launches, the company may start with limited availability and gradually roll out the product to broader markets.
What is known is that Samsung will present the complete Odyssey 2026 lineup at CES 2026. Other companies, including Lenovo, are also gearing up for the tech conference with innovative products, such as a unique laptop featuring a concealed display under its lid and a self-charging keyboard.
Lenovo's forthcoming keyboard series, which includes a self-charging variant as well as an adaptive gaming/work keyboard, could transform peripherals at CES 2026.
While there hasn't been a major advancement in computer input devices like keyboards lately, Lenovo might change that at CES 2026. A report from Windows Latest states that the company is developing a self-charging keyboard and mouse combo, in addition to a translucent combo and an adaptive smart keyboard.
The most distinctive product from the leaks is referred to as the "Lenovo Self-Charging Kit Concept." It purportedly captures energy from low indoor lighting (as low as 50 lux) and charges itself while in use indoors. Although this technology is reminiscent of Logitech's solar-powered keyboards, it operates effectively without direct sunlight.
A recent report indicates that a security concern involves a Chrome extension that may have been capturing AI chat traffic even when protective measures were supposedly disabled, despite assurances of privacy in its description.
Researchers from Koi Security state that the Urban VPN Proxy, a VPN extension for Google Chrome and Microsoft Edge, began logging users' conversations with AI assistants and relaying them to a data broker after a subtle update on July 9, 2025, when version 5.5.0 was released.
On the other hand, OpenAI has announced a security update for ChatGPT Atlas, addressing a new type of browser attack that involves prompt injection, where malicious instructions are concealed within normal content that an agent may encounter.
This update comes in light of Atlas’s agent mode, which is designed to operate in your browser like you would, enabling it to view pages, click, and type to accomplish tasks within the same context as the user. This capability makes it a more attractive target, as the agent can come across untrustworthy text through emails, shared documents, forums, social media posts, and any webpages accessed.
