Gigabyte has recently introduced some appealing high-end desktop PCs for gamers, making the switch to a prebuilt system a practical option, especially given the current challenges of acquiring the best graphics cards. These new models are equipped with Nvidia’s latest technology and are powered by the most preferred CPU among gamers, available now, though their stock may deplete quickly.
The Aorus Supreme 5 from Gigabyte is currently offered in four different versions. This model features the Ryzen 7 9800X3D, the leading gaming CPU at this time, along with Gigabyte's own motherboards and graphics cards. While there are essentially two configurations available, both can be chosen in either black or white. To my surprise, the white “Ice” configuration does not come with an additional cost, as white components typically incur a premium price.
Both configurations seem impressive, but we will need to conduct our own tests to provide a more accurate assessment. In terms of specifications, the $3,999 setup includes an RTX 5080, 64GB of DDR5 RAM, a 2TB PCIe 5.0 SSD, and the previously mentioned Ryzen CPU.
There's also an RTX 5090 configuration, priced at $5,799, which reportedly shares similar specifications but at a significant price increase due to the enhanced GPU. Aside from the specs, Gigabyte offers tool-free access to the case, an abundance of USB ports, and Windows 11, saving both time and money.
These PCs are now available through Newegg:
I won't deny that they are expensive. However, given the difficulty of purchasing a GPU currently, I can easily see some opting for these prebuilt systems rather than searching for an RTX 5090 at a price range of $3,000 to $5,000. If you're spending that amount, it makes sense to invest in a complete new PC, right?

Nvidia’s RTX 50-series is poised to potentially cause a repeat of the GPU shortage
Nvidia's RTX 5090 and RTX 5080 are slated for release later this month, and they are expected to rank among the top graphics cards of the year. Unfortunately, there are indications that their availability may be limited, as many sources anticipate that the RTX 50-series will have a constrained supply at launch. If this turns out to be true, we could face a repetition of the GPU shortages experienced during the debut of the RTX 30-series.
VideoCardz has gathered various leaks, all suggesting the same outcome: Nvidia and its partners may struggle to provide a sufficient quantity of next-gen GPUs in time for the launch. This doesn't mean that the official release date of January 30 will be postponed — that seems unlikely at this stage. Rather, the GPUs may become available but in limited quantities, with restocks not expected for some time.
The RTX 5060 is set to be Nvidia’s most crucial GPU, and I have concerns
Nvidia has just unveiled its new RTX 50-series GPUs, the first of which will be released in a couple of weeks. They are claimed to be some of the best graphics cards ever produced, particularly the flagship RTX 5090, priced at $2,000, and I believe that assertion. However, I do have concerns about the lower-end models.
In recent years, issues have arisen with graphics cards equipped with 8GB of VRAM, which has become apparent in games such as Indiana Jones and the Great Circle. Despite the backlash following previous releases like the RTX 4060 Ti, I fear that Nvidia might repeat past mistakes with the upcoming RTX 5060.
It will likely gain popularity.
Here’s how Nvidia’s CEO justifies the $2,000 price tag of the RTX 5090
"When someone wants the best, they just go for the best," stated Nvidia's CEO Jensen Huang during a Q&A session with media at CES 2025. Huang was addressing the newly introduced RTX 5090 and its price tag of $2,000, which makes it the most expensive desktop graphics card Nvidia has ever produced.
This pricing marks a new peak for Nvidia and represents a significant departure from the rest of the lineup. The next model down, the RTX 5080, is priced at $1,000, making it half the cost of the flagship. Huang indicated that consumers prefer not to deal with micro-segmentation details. "$2,000 is not a trivial amount, it offers substantial value," Huang remarked. "But many customers simply want the best."
