Apple iPad (2025) review: The top iPad for the majority improves further.

“The standout feature of the new iPad is its consistent price point, even as it doubles the storage capacity and offers a faster chip. It's a well-crafted device that meets expectations.”

      **Pros**

      - Sleek design and high-quality construction

      - Excellent display for the price

      - Ample A16 processing power

      - 128GB storage at the same price point

      - Satisfactory battery life

      **Cons**

      - Accessories are somewhat overpriced

      - Lacks Apple Intelligence and Stage Manager

      - Stylus support feels outdated

      - Again features a non-laminated display

      - Charging speed is slow

I belong to the group of hopefuls who believe in the iPad as a computer, often investing more in its potential rather than its actual performance. Since Apple integrated M1 silicon into the iPad Pro, I’ve predominantly transitioned my work tasks to the iPad. Throughout the generational updates, including the powerful M4 iPad Pro and M3 iPad Air, I also spent considerable time using the tenth generation iPad as my main device. I managed to navigate that experience without jeopardizing my job, albeit with lingering frustrations from iPadOS.

With the 11th generation iPad, Apple is maintaining its core strategy. The price is unchanged, as is the accessory ecosystem. This iteration introduces a new chip and increased storage in the base model—all for the same $349 price tag.

It presents a perplexing mix of capabilities regarding what it can technically handle versus what it is ideally meant for. Below is an overview of what the 11th-gen iPad offers and its potential scope beyond being termed as "Apple's most affordable tablet."

      **iPad (2025) design: Refined familiarity**

The iPad’s hardware remains a key strength, particularly at its entry-level price. It features an all-metal chassis made from 100% recycled aluminum available in four colors. The overall dimensions have not changed, even with the screen expanding from 10.9 to 11 inches. Apple’s minimalist design appeals to me, even more so than the iPad Pro, which has a prominent camera bump.

The fact that this tablet is priced just above $300 while providing a premium build feels like a great deal. At just one pound, the iPad is easy to handle, and its balanced weight contributes to a secure grip. This is important, especially for a device marketed mainly for media consumption and occasional work tasks.

Whether lounging on a sofa watching Netflix or using it during lengthy presentations, the iPad’s weight and portability are significant advantages. Its surface is not slippery, which is a desirable feature, and it does a commendable job of resisting smudges. I personally have sweaty hands, but I found it easy to clean fingerprints with a quick wipe. I do, however, strongly recommend using a case or skin since the metal exterior is susceptible to damage, particularly at the corners. It tends to deform from minor bumps, which I have not experienced with other tablets, except iPads. Scratches on the shiny surface are hard to conceal, providing further incentive for protection.

The physical volume and power buttons provide satisfying tactile feedback. Touch ID is once again integrated into the power button, making it quick and easy to access. I set up my fingerprint recognition for both hands to facilitate unlocking the device regardless of how I hold it.

**iPad (2025) display: Gets the job done**

The display remains unchanged, featuring an 11-inch LCD panel with a 60Hz refresh rate and resolution of 2360 x 1640 pixels, resulting in a pixel density of 264 ppi. Peak brightness
