Anker's latest sleep speakers aim to improve your sleep without requiring you to wear anything.
Introducing the bedside speaker that monitors your sleep, eliminating the need for an uncomfortable sleep tracker.
Anker is entering the sleep technology market with two new bedside speakers, designed so you don’t have to wear any devices to bed. The SleepLab and SleepLab Pro represent the company's initial foray into sleep-centric audio gadgets, with the Pro version particularly aimed at replacing your sleep ring or band entirely.
Can a speaker accurately monitor your sleep without physical contact?
That's the concept behind the SleepLab Pro. Rather than wearing a ring, watch, or sleep earbuds, this speaker utilizes 60 GHz radar placed on your nightstand to detect your sleep cycles from a distance. It monitors your heart rate and breathing, categorizing your sleep into all four stages, before providing a tailored sleep soundtrack based on its findings.
Additionally, you can access guided breathing exercises, acoustic beats, and a daily sleep report to review your night's rest. Dual drivers create spatial audio, while multi-colored ambient lighting enhances the atmosphere, and a gentle sunrise effect helps you wake up gradually without the jarring feeling of a traditional alarm.
What features does the standard SleepLab offer?
If the radar sensing seems excessive, the basic SleepLab opts for a more straightforward approach. It's a phone-free, one-tap speaker designed for streaming music, podcasts, and personal audio, and includes over 180 sounds of white noise and breathing to assist with falling asleep.
It also employs dual speakers for spatial sound, and the soft, warm lighting synchronizes with the audio. In the morning, the same sunrise simulation and a crescendo alarm will wake you gently, and a built-in battery backup ensures your alarm functions even during a power outage.
Anker has not yet announced the release date for either speaker, although both the SleepLab and SleepLab Pro are available for a one-dollar reservation on Anker Soundcore's website. By reserving now, you can save thirty dollars off the final price, with costs coming to $169.99 and $269.99, respectively. If you’re considering a sleep tracker but dislike the idea of wearing something while you sleep, these options may be worth keeping in mind.
