For years, AI has been striving to become more practical during real-time conversations, but much of that intelligence still exists behind screens. Plaud aims to change this with a pair of earbuds that can listen to discussions, comprehend important points, and take action accordingly.

The company has unveiled the Plaud One Explorer Edition, a wearable AI gadget designed for professionals whose work involves meetings, calls, ideas, and follow-ups. It represents a new interface for an "agent era," according to Plaud, merging specialized hardware with its Plaud Intelligence platform to capture discussions, comprehend intentions, and perform tasks across integrated services.

Plaud envisions conversations as the primary interface for AI.

The Plaud One can function both as earbuds and from its charging case, recording phone calls, online meetings, in-person discussions, and ideas as users carry out their work. It features an embedded eSIM and a 4G LTE connection, allowing it to stay linked without a smartphone, and recordings are automatically uploaded for transcription and summarization.

The most significant shift occurs after the conversation concludes. The revamped Plaud Intelligence platform incorporates persistent context and enhanced memory, enabling its Plaud Agent to utilize information gathered from conversations for follow-ups, report generation, and linking actions across other services, according to Plaud.

It seamlessly integrates with Gmail, Google Calendar, Notion, and Slack, allowing users to transform topics discussed in a meeting into actionable tasks without needing to transfer information between applications. The system can also engage predefined workflows known as Skills and role-specific collections referred to as Plugins, Plaud explains.

The company’s message is straightforward: instead of trying to remember every detail from a meeting and deciding on the next steps, AI manages more of the process, allowing humans to concentrate on the conversation.

The $249.99 earbuds are merely the start.

Plaud is marketing the One Explorer Edition to individuals whose roles are heavily centered around communication. A sales director could instruct it to draft a client follow-up after a meeting; a consultant may convert a workshop into a report. An executive might seek a recap of a past conversation with a client, while a chief of staff could set up a weekly recurring process that summarizes the week's discussions.

"The more the system can accumulate memory and context over time, the more advantageous it becomes," Plaud states, "because it can link information from various conversations and execute workflows more effectively. The new features of Plaud Intelligence will be integrated into the company's current hardware with the Plaud App 4.0 update.

      Plaud

The Explorer Edition is available for pre-order in selected markets for $249.99. Each unit comes with $200 in Plaud Credits to access the company’s AI functionalities. Shipping is set to begin in Q4 2026, and the Plaud App 4.0 update will launch around the same period.

What stands out here is not just that Plaud has developed another pair of AI-equipped earbuds. It's a bet that the next significant advancement in AI interfaces won't involve a screen at all, but rather the conversations people are already engaged in.
