CMF has launched its first open-ear earbuds, featuring a Smart Dial charging case that allows you to manage your music.

      CMF has entered one of the most competitive segments in the earbud market, featuring a case that commands attention. The Nothing sub-brand has introduced the Clip Pro, its inaugural open-ear earbuds, crafted to allow ambient sound while maintaining high audio quality.

      The CMF Clip Pro will be available in the US, UK, and Japan starting August 15, priced at $99, with a broader global release expected on September 15.

      What distinguishes Nothing’s CMF Clip Pro earbuds?

      Weighing only 5.9 grams each, these earbuds contour to the ear using a flexible titanium wire core, which disperses pressure across three points to minimize discomfort. A 10.8mm dual magnet driver delivers sound, alongside CMF’s Ultra Bass Technology aimed at mitigating the bass deficiencies often associated with open-ear models.

      Four built-in microphones enhance call clarity, while a Sound Seal system, adjustable via the Nothing X app, reduces audio leakage to nearby individuals.

      The most notable feature is the charging case itself. CMF has integrated a rotating Smart Dial that enables users to adjust volume, control playback, and answer calls without needing to touch their phones. This harks back to a feature CMF has previously implemented, setting it apart in a market where most rivals depend solely on touch controls.

      The Clip Pro also boasts support for Bluetooth 5.4, dual device pairing, a low latency gaming mode, and an IP54 rating for light splash resistance. If previous open-ear earbuds have entailed a compromise between comfort and sound quality, the Clip Pro represents CMF’s aim to challenge that notion. However, with Samsung reportedly developing its own open-ear Galaxy Buds, CMF might have a limited window to make its case before competitors catch up.
