Magnetic gaming keyboards and lightweight mice are becoming quite common, yet Lenovo aims to elevate these concepts with its latest Legion peripherals. The new collection features the Legion R7 RT75 keyboard and the Legion Y7MG mouse, both supporting an 8,000Hz polling rate for gamers who want their inputs to reach the PC with maximum speed.
Lenovo has designed these peripherals to be striking and visually appealing without sacrificing functionality. The keyboard boasts a robust metallic build with translucent keycaps and RGB lighting. Lenovo has incorporated numerous features into the keyboard
The R7 RT75 employs a compact 75% layout and uses Hall effect magnetic switches instead of traditional TMR technology. Each key allows for adjustable actuation, rapid triggering, and sensitivity adjustments down to 0.01mm, while features like SOCD, DKS, and multi-point triggering cater to players who enjoy refining their movement and key responses.
The keyboard features a CNC-machined aluminum chassis and weighs approximately 1.49kg, making it unlikely to shift during intense gaming sessions. Lenovo also includes a carbon-fiber positioning plate, a gasket-mounted structure, and five layers of sound-dampening material to enhance the typing experience and minimize extraneous noise. A 1.47-inch display in the top-right corner shows settings, connection details, and other relevant information. The RGB lighting illuminates the keys and sides, while the magnetic top cover can be easily removed without any tools.
Connectivity options include USB-C, 2.4GHz wireless, and Bluetooth. The full 8,000Hz polling rate is accessible through wired and 2.4GHz connections, although it drops to 125Hz when using Bluetooth. An unusually large 8,000mAh battery supports wireless operation, intended to balance the power demands of the Hall effect switches, high polling rate, RGB lighting, and the integrated display.
The mouse features 8K polling in a lightweight design
The Legion Y7MG weighs in at 59 grams, despite its magnesium-alloy upper shell. It is equipped with PixArt’s PAW3950 sensor, allowing sensitivity settings up to 42,000 DPI, and features optical switches rated for 100 million clicks. It also supports wired, 2.4GHz, and Bluetooth connections, with 8,000Hz polling available in both wired and 2.4GHz modes. A 500mAh battery powers the mouse for wireless use.
Both accessories are currently available in China. The R7 RT75 is priced at CNY 1,299, approximately $192, while the Y7MG begins at CNY 499, roughly $73. Lenovo has yet to announce whether these products will be released internationally.
