Samsung's upcoming competitor to the iPad Pro has just been revealed, showcasing a quicker chip and a persistent notch.
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra may retain the notch that many found unappealing.
Samsung's upcoming flagship Android tablet has been leaked, revealing a large design that appears similar to its predecessor. OnLeaks and Smartphone Checker shared CAD renders of the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, presenting the device from all angles. Its design seems nearly indistinguishable from the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, featuring the same shallow display notch, dual rear cameras, magnetic S Pen charging strip, and keyboard connector.
It seems Samsung didn't find any reason to alter the design.
The leaked tablet has dimensions of 326.34 x 208.46 x 5.12mm, which matches the specifications for the Tab S11 Ultra exactly when rounded to one decimal place. This unchanged size suggests another 14.6-inch, 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED 2X display. However, sticking to the older model's design does have its downsides.
Many users criticized the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra's notch as distracting on an otherwise beautiful display. Unfortunately, these renders reveal the same central cutout for a single selfie camera. The two rear camera rings also remain in their previous positions. While CAD renders typically provide accurate dimensions and component placements, they may not reliably depict materials, final colors, or finer details. Thus, the ultimate appearance of the Galaxy Tab S12 series remains uncertain.
The enhancements are within the device.
Rumors indicate that the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra will feature MediaTek’s flagship Dimensity 9500 processor. Connections linking Samsung’s forthcoming tablets to the chip’s MT6993 model number were discovered in the company's AI Core app. This 3nm processor is expected to significantly outperform the Dimensity 9400+ that powers the Tab S11 Ultra.
Other anticipated specs include at least 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, quad speakers, IP68 protection, and an included S Pen. The software is expected to run on Android 17 and One UI 9. The same 11,600mAh battery capacity and 45W charging seen in the current model are likely to return this year, with an announcement reportedly scheduled for September.

AppleCare+ prices are increasing for new Mac and iPad customers.
Existing AppleCare+ subscribers will not be affected by Apple's latest price hike.
Apple has increased the cost of AppleCare+ subscriptions for new Mac and iPad customers, adding to the expense of hardware that already saw significant price increases last month. AppleCare+ offers technical support and repair coverage for accidental damage and other qualifying issues. Monthly AppleCare+ plans for Macs and iPads will now cost an additional $0.50, while annual plans have risen by $5. Existing subscribers will continue to pay their current rates, as the price change only affects new sign-ups.
Apple has also begun allowing payment for cellular iPads over 3 years, reflecting a costly trend that is likely to continue.
Apple has introduced a 36-month carrier financing option for cellular iPads purchased directly from the Apple Store, available through AT&T and Verizon for existing customers adding a new line of service. Previously, the main financing option from Apple was Apple Card Monthly Installments, which spread the cost of an iPad over 12 months. The new carrier plans extend those payments to three years and include the standard iPad, iPad mini, iPad Air, and iPad Pro.
