Samsung's upcoming competitor to the iPad Pro has been revealed, featuring a more powerful chip and a persistent notch.
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra might retain the notch that many viewers found unappealing.
Samsung’s forthcoming flagship Android tablet has just been revealed, showcasing a considerable size and a design that appears unchanged from the previous model. CAD renders of the Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra, shared by OnLeaks and Smartphone Checker, display the device from all sides. Its design looks almost identical to the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra, featuring the same shallow display notch, dual rear cameras, a magnetic S Pen charging area, and a keyboard connector.
Samsung evidently found no reason to make changes.
The leaked tablet measures 326.34 x 208.46 x 5.12mm. Rounded to one decimal place, these dimensions match exactly with what Samsung lists for the Tab S11 Ultra. This continuous size suggests another 14.6-inch, 120Hz Dynamic AMOLED 2X display. However, sticking to the previous design comes with certain downsides.
Many users criticized the Galaxy Tab S11 Ultra's notch for being distracting on an otherwise stunning display. Unfortunately, these renders again depict the familiar central cutout accommodating a single selfie camera. The two separated camera rings on the back are also positioned exactly as before. While CAD renders reliably outline dimensions and component setups, they sometimes fall short on details like materials, final colors, and other finer points. Therefore, the ultimate appearance of the Galaxy Tab S12 series remains uncertain.
The enhancements are internal.
The Galaxy Tab S12 Ultra is rumored to feature MediaTek’s top-tier Dimensity 9500 processor. Previous references linking Samsung’s upcoming tablets to the chip’s MT6993 model number were discovered within the company’s AI Core app. The 3nm processor is expected to deliver a significant performance boost over the Dimensity 9400+ that powers the Tab S11 Ultra.
Other anticipated specifications include a minimum of 12GB of RAM, 256GB of storage, Wi-Fi 7, Bluetooth 6.0, quad speakers, IP68 protection, and an included S Pen. Android 17 paired with One UI 9 is expected on the software front. The same 11,600mAh battery capacity and 45W charging seen in the current model are also predicted to return this year, with an announcement likely scheduled for September.

Apple now allows you to pay for cellular iPads over three years, reflecting a trend of rising costs that shows no sign of stopping soon.
Apple has introduced 36-month carrier financing for cellular iPads bought directly from its store. This option is available via AT&T and Verizon for existing customers who add a new line of service. Previously, the primary financing method offered directly by Apple was Apple Card Monthly Installments, which spread the cost of an iPad over 12 months. The new carrier options extend those payments over three years and include the standard iPad, iPad mini, iPad Air, and iPad Pro.
