Fraimic's E Ink art frame creates artwork based on your voice and does so in a stunning manner.
Fraimic's AI art canvas is one of the most thoughtfully crafted smart frames I've encountered.
We have seen numerous “smart art frames” at CES over the years, but many resemble upgraded digital photo frames. However, one stands out as genuinely unique: Fraimic, which I say as a person who is usually skeptical of this category.
At first glance, the concept is quite enticing. You can simply speak a prompt into the device, and its integrated microphone communicates with OpenAI’s GPT Image 2.0 to produce full-color artwork that appears on a Spectra 6 E Ink display.
What differentiates it from competitors like Aura and SwitchBot?
Typically, you'd use your phone to make adjustments on a standard digital photo frame, but with Fraimic, you only need to tap, speak, and watch as something resembling paint on paper materializes on your wall instead of pixels on a screen.
Additionally, the device includes an accelerometer that detects its orientation, whether in portrait or landscape.
Regarding competition, Aura Frames necessitate a subscription and don’t allow changes to the surrounding frame. On the other hand, SwitchBot frames lack voice generation capabilities. Fraimic offers both features while automatically keeping your prompts and images private.
The company provides 100 free AI creations per year and grants access to thousands of public-domain artworks from the Metropolitan Museum of Art. A REST API enables developers to integrate it with smart home systems.
So, why does the price seem so prohibitive?
Because $499 for the 13.3-inch model and $1,499 for the 31.5-inch variant feels rather high. Aura’s similar frame is priced similarly for the smaller size but also offers smaller, less expensive options. SwitchBot has a 31.5-inch version priced $200 lower.
It’s important to mention that the 13.3-inch model is currently shipping, while the 31.5-inch is slated for July 2026. However, the brand did achieve a Red Dot Award: Product Design 2026, which helps bolster its case. Still, for a first-generation product from a Chicago startup, it appears to demand a significant investment.
To me, Fraimic occupies an intriguing yet awkward position. It’s too costly for an impulse purchase yet too genuinely impressive to disregard. Nonetheless, we will reserve our final judgment until we have the opportunity to interact with it directly.

Roborock brought FIFA World Cup excitement to Miami, and I had an enjoyable experience.
World Cup excitement has reached Miami, and I experienced some of that at the renowned Aventura Mall. Robotic vacuum company Roborock hosted a pop-up event over the weekend, offering attendees opportunities to play games, win prizes, and learn about the company's current offerings. The installation, called “Your Home, Your Stadium,” was done in collaboration with Roborock's partnerships: Real Madrid and Miami Lighthouse for the Blind and Visually Impaired. Consequently, there was a wealth of Real Madrid memorabilia displayed, including a shirt signed by French striker Kylian Mbappe. Real Madrid and Brazil legend Roberto Carlos made an appearance on the final day to meet fans.
