Another Google subscription has been introduced for Gemini.

Google has launched a new feature for its Gemini service that is only accessible to paying members. The latest addition, called “Take notes for me,” is available in Google Meet for subscribers of Google AI Pro and Google AI Ultra, as well as qualifying Workspace business users.

For individual users, the feature is available starting at Google AI Pro, which is priced at $19.99 per month in the US. This means that Gemini can now take notes during your Google Meet sessions, provided you meet the minimum subscription requirement.

      What the feature actually offers

When activated during a meeting, Gemini operates in the background to transcribe the discussion and generate a summary highlighting key action items. The notes are automatically saved as a Google Doc in your Drive, and after the meeting concludes, Google sends a recap email containing the summary and next steps.

Meeting summaries, action items, and searchable notes can be extremely beneficial for anyone who finds themselves in a lengthy meeting. Users can initiate note-taking during a call by clicking on the pencil icon located at the top of the Meet window. Additionally, they have the option to enable this feature for all calls via the Meet settings under Meeting records. Google ensures that all participants in the meeting will be notified when note-taking is activated, which is crucial, as no one wants to find out later that Gemini has been transcribing the entire conversation without their knowledge.

      Still behind a paywall

Google has been integrating Gemini into Workspace for some time, and AI meeting features are quickly becoming essential in productivity software. However, the situation remains unchanged, and a fee is still required. While Gemini’s “Take notes for me” may not be a significant update, regular Google Meet users can greatly benefit from this functionality.

This $1,299 gaming PC aims to be a Steam Machine without waiting for Valve.

Valve’s Steam Machine has already become a reality in MetaPC's new prebuilt device. While Valve’s Steam Machine represents SteamOS, this platform is not exclusive to it. A major announcement following the reveal of the Steam Machine stated that SteamOS would be available on systems beyond the new hybrid console. MetaPC is among the first to capitalize on this opportunity by offering preorders for the Steamroller, a new prebuilt gaming desktop that comes with SteamOS installed as standard.

Unlike a compact console-like cube, the Steamroller is a regular desktop PC featuring standard components and provides options for upgrades. The system is priced at $1,299 and is set for preorder starting July 3, 2026.

This inexpensive Steam Machine clone sounds too good to be true, and it probably is.

A Chinese clone of the Steam Machine boasts impossible hardware at an unreal price. Valve’s new Steam Machine has already led to significant price concerns, so it’s no surprise that many cheaper alternatives are appearing in the market. Currently, Valve is charging over $1,000 for its small living-room SteamOS PC, prompting others to attempt to offer similar features at a lower cost.

One such listing from China has raised suspicions. According to VideoCardz, a Steam Machine-style mini PC posted on Reddit claims to provide a compact SteamOS system equipped with a 2TB SSD, AMD Ryzen 5 5500 processor, Radeon RX 6750 GRE 10GB graphics, 16GB of DDR5 memory, all for a price of 4,680 RMB, approximately $688. This sounds amazing... if it were actually true.
