The competition to create smart glasses that appear less cumbersome has started, and I'm excited about the progress.
Lorika
There was a time when wearing smart glasses immediately tagged you as a nerd, but that era is long gone. Meta has partnered with eyewear giant EssilorLuxottica to make its Ray-Ban glasses appear like typical spectacles, showcasing significant progress on the fashion front. However, an Italian startup believes there's still room for innovation, and I'm all for it.
What exactly are Ontop covers?
Introducing Lorika, a group of entrepreneurs under the age of 30, and their inaugural product, Ontop. The name is fitting, as these vibrantly colored frame covers rest directly atop your Ray-Ban Meta glasses. They are crafted from polycarbonate plastic, enhanced with elastic polymers for added stability. One piece clips around the lens and conceals the hinges, while the additional pieces snap onto the arms. Rest assured, the cameras and speakers remain unobstructed.

Though the covers are only one millimeter thick, adding them gives your glasses a noticeably bulkier, puffier appearance. As Lorika CEO Giorgio Di Cesare shared with Wired, if you're looking for a chunkier, puffier style, now you can have that. They are currently available for purchase, priced at either $35 or $40 depending on the model. For the time being, they are compatible with the Wayfarer version of Ray-Ban Meta glasses, both first and second generations.
How did this concept come about?
The idea stemmed from a familiar experience. Di Cesare was an early user of Ray-Ban Meta glasses and felt disheartened when one of his pairs broke at the hinge. Inspired by phone cases, he decided to create a product that would protect and reinforce the glasses while also injecting a bit of personality.
Lorika
Most popular smart glasses are offered in black or dark shades, and Di Cesare aims to change that trend. While Lorika does not have an official collaboration with Meta, the company aspires to develop covers for Oakley and Display glasses, as well as cases for other brands in the future.

I uncovered the best Prime Day headphone deals that are truly worth your money, while steering clear of subpar options.
These Prime Day headphone deals stand out due to genuine price reductions, favorable reviews, and brands that are genuinely reputable.
Initially, I’m skeptical of most Prime Day headphone offers. Too many rely on inflated original prices, ambiguous “limited-time” claims, or brands that fade from memory immediately after purchase. The five deals listed below provide concrete reasons to buy: established brands, meaningful discounts, and sufficient review context to minimize the risk of buying mystery headphones.
