The competition to design smart glasses that appear less clumsy has started, and I'm thrilled with the results.
Lorika
There was a time when wearing smart glasses immediately labeled you as a geek, but that era is long gone. Meta has collaborated with eyewear giant EssilorLuxottica to design Ray-Ban glasses that resemble regular eyewear, and the fashion aspect has evolved significantly. However, an Italian startup believes there's still potential for creativity, and I'm all in for it.
What are these Ontop covers?
Introducing Lorika, a group of entrepreneurs under 30, and their initial product known as Ontop. The name is fitting as these vibrant frame covers sit directly on top of your Ray-Ban Meta glasses. They are crafted from polycarbonate plastic with elastic polymers integrated for added support. One piece fits around the lens while covering the hinges, while the others attach to the arms. No need to worry; the cameras and speakers remain unobstructed.

The covers measure just one millimeter thick, yet attaching them noticeably enhances the glasses' bulkiness and puffiness. As Lorika CEO Giorgio Di Cesare mentioned to Wired, if you're looking for something plusher and more substantial, you finally have that option. They are available now for $35 or $40, depending on the model, and currently fit the Wayfarer version of Ray-Ban Meta glasses, both first and second generations.
What inspired this idea?
The concept arose from a personal experience. Di Cesare, an early adopter of Ray-Ban Meta, was disappointed when one of his pairs broke at the hinge. Drawing inspiration from phone cases, he decided to create a product that not only protects and strengthens the glasses but also adds a touch of individuality.
Lorika
Most popular smart glasses come in shades of black or dark colors, and Di Cesare aims to break that trend. Although Lorika doesn't have an official partnership with Meta, the company aspires to create covers for Oakley and Display glasses, and potentially cases for other brands in the future.

I found the best Prime Day headphone deals that are genuinely worth your money, steering clear of the subpar options.
These Prime Day headphone deals are notable for their real price reductions, solid reviews, and reputable brands.
At first glance, I am often skeptical of most Prime Day headphone deals. Too many rely on inflated list prices or vague “limited-time” promotions, along with unknown brands you’re unlikely to remember post-purchase. The five listed below have clear incentives for purchasing: established names, meaningful price drops, and sufficient review context to avoid risking your investment on unproven products.
