Ultrahuman introduces cost-effective continuous glucose monitoring for consumers in the US.
Ultrahuman has revealed the introduction of M2 Live in the United States, broadening the availability of continuous glucose monitoring and metabolic health insights for individuals without diabetes. This new platform incorporates glucose data from Abbott’s over-the-counter Lingo continuous glucose monitor (CGM), enabling users to monitor their metabolic health without the need for a prescription.
This launch marks a notable advancement for the company, which played a key role in popularizing glucose monitoring among wellness-oriented consumers when it debuted its first metabolic tracking platform in 2021. With M2 Live, Ultrahuman aims to enhance the affordability and accessibility of the technology, with subscription plans beginning at $99 per month and individual sensors costing $129.
The platform targets adults seeking to gain a better understanding of how food, exercise, stress, and sleep influence their bodies in real time. It is also available for individuals with prediabetes looking to enhance their overall metabolic health.
Integrating glucose tracking with AI-driven health insights
In contrast to conventional glucose monitoring solutions that concentrate solely on blood sugar readings, M2 Live merges glucose data with other health metrics to deliver a more holistic view of wellness.
The platform collates information from Abbott’s Lingo biosensor along with data gathered from the Ultrahuman Ring and the company’s Blood Vision service, which evaluates over 100 blood biomarkers. This integration enables users to observe glucose trends alongside sleep quality, activity levels, recovery, stress, heart rate variability, and body temperature.
The experience is powered by Jade AI, Ultrahuman’s real-time biointelligence engine. This system assesses health data and clarifies why glucose levels fluctuate by correlating them with lifestyle factors such as meals, exercise habits, sleep quality, and recovery patterns.
M2 Live also features various tools intended to simplify the interpretation of glucose data. These include a daily Metabolic Score ranging from 0 to 100, personalized Food Scores to indicate how specific foods impact glucose levels, real-time spike alerts, workout-related Fueling Scores, and access to OGDb, which the company refers to as the largest open glucose database globally.
Ultrahuman asserts that only one in eight adults in the US is metabolically healthy, contributing to issues like Type 2 diabetes and cardiovascular diseases. The company believes that offering real-time metabolic insights can empower users to make improved health choices before severe health complications arise.
Grounded in years of research and clinical validation
Ultrahuman is emphasizing the scientific backing behind its platform.
The company claims that its Metabolic Score has been clinically validated through a multi-center study published in Nature, showcasing its capacity to differentiate between non-diabetic and prediabetic individuals. It also cites recent partnerships with Stanford University, Bangor University, La Trobe University, and the Mayo Clinic as part of its extensive metabolic health research endeavors.
The launch arrives at a moment when consumer health technology is swiftly evolving beyond basic fitness tracking toward more comprehensive health monitoring. As over-the-counter continuous glucose monitors gain popularity, platforms like M2 Live could facilitate the broad adoption of metabolic health tracking by a larger audience.
Ultrahuman indicates that M2 Live will soon be accessible in the US through its website. Each Lingo sensor can be utilized for up to 14 days, allowing users to consistently access glucose data and tailored health insights throughout the day.
