The Accentum Clip has the potential to enhance the attractiveness of open-ear earbuds for music enthusiasts.
Sennheiser has introduced their latest open-ear earbuds, which promise enhanced bass while still allowing users to be aware of their surroundings.
Open-ear earbuds are quickly becoming a popular choice in personal audio due to their comfortable fit and the ability to hear external sounds, making them perfect for commuting, exercising, or working in shared environments. However, they have often lacked in sound quality. Traditional open-ear designs usually fall short in providing the bass and immersive experience that listeners desire.
To combat this issue, Sennheiser has designed the Accentum Clip. These clip-style earbuds promise to deliver improved bass, clear vocal performance, and balanced treble.
To back up these assertions, the Accentum Clip features a 12mm dynamic driver that Sennheiser claims is engineered for clarity, impactful bass, and smooth treble, ensuring an enjoyable listening experience even during long sessions. They support SBC and AAC codecs, as well as LDAC for high-bitrate audio transmission.
The earbuds are also equipped with a Dynamic EQ feature that modifies sound output at various volume levels, maintaining a consistent listening experience. As the volume rises, the EQ adjustments gradually lessen to help maintain sound balance and reduce distortion.
In addition to audio quality, the Accentum Clip retains the benefits that have made open-ear earbuds so popular. Since they sit outside the ear canal, users can hear their surroundings while enjoying music, podcasts, or making calls. Naturally, they do not feature noise cancellation.
Each earbud weighs 6.8 grams and utilizes a flexible silicone bridge that wraps around the ear. They have an IP54 rating for dust and sweat resistance, making them suitable for outdoor activities and workouts.
Additional features include Bluetooth 6.0, multipoint connectivity, Google Fast Pair support, and dual microphones with AI-assisted noise reduction for calls. The battery life offers up to nine hours on a single charge and up to 36 hours with the charging case. A 10-minute charge can provide up to two hours of playback.
The Accentum Clip will be released in Black and Cream starting on July 23 in Canada for CAD $269.95. Sennheiser is initially launching the earbuds in Canada, China, and Central and South American countries, with plans to release them in the UK and Europe later, but no details on availability in other regions, including the U.S., have been announced.
