ChatGPT's updated Scheduled page consolidates all your automated tasks into a single location.
The update introduces more intelligent monitoring tasks capable of automatically searching the web and connected applications.
OpenAI is launching a specialized hub for ChatGPT's scheduled tasks, providing users with a centralized location to view, manage, and supervise their automated tasks. The new Scheduled page can be found in the sidebar, displaying all active tasks along with their upcoming execution times.
What's included in the update:
From the Scheduled page, users can pause, edit, resume, or delete any pending task without having to sift through previous conversations. OpenAI has also enhanced the timing options for tasks, allowing users to schedule them to run during broader timeframes like morning, afternoon, or evening. The company also claims that all tasks are now executed more swiftly and reliably compared to before.
New in ChatGPT: an improved method for scheduling tasks. Scheduled tasks are now faster, more dependable, and simpler to oversee from the newly introduced Scheduled page. This upgraded scheduled tasks experience is being rolled out to Go, Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise users on both web and mobile platforms.
Task monitoring has also seen improvements, with ChatGPT now capable of proactively searching the web or checking connected applications on behalf of the user, sending notifications only when there’s new information to share. However, there are some restrictions: OpenAI states that tasks cannot run more than once per hour and unattended tasks may automatically pause after some inactivity.
The end of Pulse:
This update also signifies the discontinuation of Pulse, OpenAI’s personalized daily summary feature that was launched last year. Pulse provided automatic briefings tailored to a user's interests and previous conversations, but OpenAI is integrating that capability into the scheduled tasks system. Pro users will have access to Pulse for 14 days from Wednesday, after which they can replicate the experience by setting up a daily briefing through the new tasks hub.
The scheduled tasks feature in ChatGPT has been around for some time, but OpenAI's decision to highlight it more prominently indicates that they view automation as an essential aspect of how users will engage with the product moving forward. The Scheduled page is being rolled out to Plus, Pro, Business, and Enterprise users on both web and mobile, with no timeline set for free-tier access.
