Cash App has just introduced a wand for making payments, as phone scans and taps have become quite dull.

Cash App has introduced an NFC-enabled wand that allows you to tap and pay at any contactless terminal.

Contactless payments are convenient, but have you ever purchased your coffee with a magic wand?

Cash App, which is operated by Block, has unveiled the Cash App Wand – a pearlescent, star-shaped, NFC-enabled keychain that allows for tap-to-pay transactions at any contactless terminal. This is indeed a real product priced at $25, available for purchase through the app for Cash App Card holders.

So, how does this wand work?

The Cash App Wand is the inaugural product from a new hardware line named Cash App Tags. These Tags are NFC-enabled physical devices that don’t require Wi-Fi or Bluetooth to function. To set one up, you simply hold it against the back of your phone to link it directly to your Cash App account.

After setup, it operates similarly to a debit card but attaches to your keychain or handbag like a charm. Thomas Templeton, Block's hardware lead, explains that the concept is to make payments feel more visible, enjoyable, and expressive.

He notes that digital payments have rendered transactions nearly invisible, with even Cash App’s own cards spending most of their time in people's pockets. Cash App aims for the wand to be the first item you reach for when it's time to make a payment.

This marks just the start of Cash App Tags.

The wand represents the first of many unique tap-to-pay hardware designs planned for release. New limited edition Cash App Tag designs will be available to Cash App cardholders in the upcoming weeks, with broader access expected later this summer.

Whether you need a wand for your morning coffee or simply want to feel like a wizard at the checkout, Cash App has you covered.

And if a magic wand didn’t entice you enough to spend more, Google is further streamlining online checkout by eliminating OTP in favor of a quick biometric verification.

Finding a thoughtful Mother’s Day gift can be more challenging than it seems, and many typical gifts don't last beyond the occasion. The SKG G7 Pro Fold 3.0 neck massager and the SKG W9 Ultra 2.0 lower back massager, designed for daily recovery, offer a distinctive choice. Both will be discounted by 15% from April 25th to May 8th, geared for regular use rather than novelty, and they target the neck and back discomfort that often accumulates from years of desk work, commuting, and more.

In January, we often focus on tidying our physical spaces: decluttering closets, organizing the garage, enhancing our gym gear. However, we usually neglect our digital lives, leaving them in a state of chaos and vulnerability. Using the same password across various logins or depending on a browser to remember your banking details is not just risky; it’s careless.
