Google has introduced Google AI Edge Eloquent on macOS, making its free dictation app available for Mac users. The application records your speech, transcribes it, and refines the text in real time by eliminating filler words and enhancing clarity.
The app, named “Google AI Edge Eloquent,” was initially released on iOS a few months back and has now made its way to macOS. Unfortunately, Google still has not launched an Android version of the app, treating its mobile platform as less of a priority.
What distinguishes it from others?
The key distinction lies in where the processing takes place. Unlike most transcription services that use cloud systems to handle audio processing, Eloquent operates entirely on the device, utilizing Google’s Gemma AI models, which you directly download onto your Mac. This means that your audio remains on your device, marking a significant advantage for privacy.

In addition to privacy, the app allows you to select from various writing styles to suit the tone you desire. You can also include custom words in its dictionary, whether they are client names, industry terminology, or any term that tends to be misinterpreted by your dictation app.
Anyone who has seen their transcription app repeatedly mispronounce a name will appreciate this functionality.
Is this a competitor to paid transcription services?
It certainly appears so. Many leading transcription and dictation applications charge a monthly or yearly fee for features that Eloquent seems to provide for free. On-device processing, refined transcriptions, and customizable styles are not basic elements; these are the types of features users are willing to pay for.

Google is eager to acquire your app code, and it’s willing to pay for it
Google is offering to buy app code, and the reason is exactly what you might think.
The company has been discreetly reaching out to Android developers with an invitation to sell access to their code. According to 404 Media, Google contacted a select group of Google Play developers, encouraging them to participate in what it terms a "confidential content offer pilot." The communication presents it as a revenue-generating opportunity, stating developers can "get compensated for sharing the code behind your apps, along with your archived projects." Google assures developers that they will retain their intellectual property rights and that the license granted is non-exclusive.
Nvidia confirms more RTX Spark processors are on the way with N2X and N3 series planned
Huang affirming a multi-generation roadmap before the initial device has even launched is a clear indication that this is a commitment spanning a decade.
The PC and laptop market has relied on Intel and AMD processors for so long that many don't even question whether those are the only available options. Nvidia addressed this at Computex 2026 with the announcement of the RTX Spark superchip, and Jensen Huang’s remarks about future developments imply that it was not just a one-off project.
AI fitness coach detects muscle mechanics while you exercise and helps prevent beginner injuries
While most fitness apps provide motivation masquerading as coaching, BioCoach offers corrections specific to anatomy, and it seems poised to become a smartphone application soon.
During the pandemic, the US Consumer Product Safety Commission documented a 48% increase in home exercise injuries. You may assume the issue was poor equipment, but it stemmed from improper form. Without a coach available to provide guidance, individuals struggled. Researchers at Drexel University and Michigan State University have developed a prototype that addresses this exact issue in real-time, utilizing your phone’s camera, and there is potential for it to evolve into a legitimate fitness application in the future (via Tech Xplore).
