      With iOS 27, Siri undergoes a complete visual overhaul, featuring a cleaner interface centered around the Dynamic Island, where it will function as an always-on assistant. Users will be able to interact with it not just by voice but also through a new gesture: swiping down from the top center of the screen.

      This gesture will reportedly launch a new Search or Ask interface, replacing the old Siri Suggestions panel. It will also allow users to perform everyday tasks like launching applications, drafting messages, checking their calendars, searching through notes, and looking up information online using Apple's new AI-driven search system, which may compete with tools like Perplexity.

      Information will display as rich text cards emerging from the Dynamic Island, and further swiping will take users into a full chatbot conversation within the new Siri app.

      What does the new Siri app look like?

      The standalone Siri app, as depicted in the renders, resembles ChatGPT and Gemini in both design and functionality. It will support voice input, text entry, and file or photo attachments, while maintaining conversation history as a list or summarized tiles, similar to existing chatbot applications.

      Users will have the option to direct queries to third-party AI services, including ChatGPT, Gemini, or Claude, via a dropdown menu in the Search or Ask interface. The redesigned Siri will leverage Google's Gemini AI technology, a partnership confirmed when the two companies announced their collaboration.

      Additional modifications include a dedicated Siri mode within the iOS Camera app, replacing the current Visual Intelligence feature, as well as AI-powered object analysis through third-party services.
