Oura Ring 5 is 40% smaller and features its most scratch-resistant design to date.

      Oura has unveiled a new iteration of its well-received smart ring, named the Oura Ring 5. In comparison to the Ring 4, the newest version boasts a body that is 40% smaller (measuring 2.28mm thick) and is constructed from lightweight, non-allergenic titanium.

      To create a sleeker and lighter design, the company has redesigned the mechanical, electrical, optical, battery, and sensing components.

      The Oura Ring 5 features a more compact design and enhanced sensors.

      It incorporates low-profile sensor domes, more durable LEDs, and 12 signal pathways to provide clearer and more consistent readings from the finger, accommodating various skin tones. The battery life has been extended to last between six and nine days.

      The ring is available in sizes from 6 to 13 and comes in several colors including Silver, Black, Gold, Stealth, Brushed Silver, and Deep Rose. According to Oura, this is its most scratch-resistant model to date, thanks to a stronger physical vapor deposition coating. It also carries an IP68 rating, making it waterproof up to 100 meters.

      Additionally, the brand is launching a $99 aluminum charging case for the Ring 5, capable of holding a month’s worth of battery life, supporting wireless charging, and featuring an action button for checking charging status and pairing.

      Oura is enhancing its app with more health features.

      The most significant update for Oura subscription members with Gen 3 rings and later is Health Radar. It includes two primary functions: Blood Pressure Signals and Nighttime Breathing. The Blood Pressure Signals feature tracks blood pressure during sleep, when external factors like movement, stress, and caffeine have minimal impact on readings. It can notify users if it identifies unusual cardiovascular strain during the night.

      Users can also manually enter readings from a standard blood pressure cuff in the Oura app, allowing those measurements to be viewed alongside their historical Oura trends.

      Nighttime Breathing functions similarly by monitoring breathing during sleep and providing users with a 30-day overview of sleep-related breathing issues, making it easier to identify patterns that may warrant medical evaluation.

      Other new software capabilities include Live Activity Tracking, which transforms the Oura app into a more interactive workout companion. Users can initiate a workout via the app and view pace, distance, and heart rate in real-time. This feature supports activities like running, cycling, and strength training, as well as gathering heart rate information from third-party monitors and compatible devices.

      The Oura Ring 5 is currently available for preorder and will begin shipping on June 4, 2026. The price is $399 for Silver and Black models, and $499 for Gold, Stealth, Brushed Silver, and Deep Rose variants.
