The Oura Ring 5 is now 40% more compact and features its most scratch-resistant design to date.

Oura has unveiled a new iteration of its well-known smart ring, designated the Oura Ring 5. In comparison to the Ring 4, the updated version boasts a 40% reduction in size (2.28mm in thickness) and is constructed from lightweight, non-allergenic titanium.

To create a more compact and lighter design, the company has reengineered the mechanical, electrical, optical, battery, and sensing systems.

The Oura Ring 5 features a compact design and enhanced sensors

The Ring 5 incorporates low-profile sensor domes, more robust LEDs, and 12 signal pathways to deliver clearer and more consistent measurements from the finger across various skin tones. The battery life has been extended, lasting between six and nine days.

It is offered in sizes 6 to 13 and comes in Silver, Black, Gold, Stealth, Brushed Silver, and Deep Rose. According to Oura, this is their most scratch-resistant ring to date, thanks to a stronger physical vapor deposition coating. Additionally, it has an IP68 rating and is waterproof up to 100 meters.

The company is also introducing a $99 aluminum charging case for the Ring 5, capable of storing a month's worth of charge, featuring wireless charging support, and equipped with an action button to check charging status and pairing.

Oura is enhancing the health features in the app

The most significant update for Oura subscription members with Gen 3 rings and above is the Health Radar. It includes two primary features called Blood Pressure Signals and Nighttime Breathing. The Blood Pressure Signals feature monitors blood pressure during sleep when factors such as movement, stress, and caffeine exert less impact on the readings. It can notify users if it identifies abnormal cardiovascular strain during sleep.

Users are also able to input readings from a conventional blood pressure cuff directly into the Oura app, allowing those measurements to be viewed alongside long-term Oura trends.

      Oura

Nighttime Breathing functions similarly by tracking breathing patterns during sleep and offering users a 30-day overview of sleep-related breathing disruptions. This assists in identifying patterns that may require medical attention.

Additional new software features include Live Activity Tracking, transforming the Oura app into a more interactive workout companion. Users can initiate a workout from the app and monitor metrics such as pace, distance, and connected heart rate in real time. This feature supports running, cycling, and strength training, and is capable of sourcing heart rate data from third-party monitors and compatible devices.

The Oura Ring 5 is currently available for preorder, with shipping starting on June 4, 2026. The price is set at $399 for Silver and Black, and $499 for Gold, Stealth, Brushed Silver, and Deep Rose.
