Oura Ring 5 is 40% more compact and features its most scratch-resistant design to date.
Oura has introduced a new version of its well-known smart ring, the Oura Ring 5. In comparison to the Ring 4, this updated model features a body that is 40% smaller (2.28mm thick), constructed from lightweight, non-allergenic titanium.
To create a slimmer and lighter profile, the company has redesigned its mechanical, electrical, optical, battery, and sensing systems.
The Oura Ring 5 boasts a compact design with improved sensors
The Ring 5 incorporates low-profile sensor domes, enhanced LEDs, and 12 signal pathways to provide clearer and more consistent readings from the finger, regardless of skin tone. The battery life has been extended to last between six and nine days.

It is offered in sizes from 6 to 13 and comes in various colors: Silver, Black, Gold, Stealth, Brushed Silver, and Deep Rose. Oura claims this is its most scratch-resistant ring to date, thanks to a more robust physical vapor deposition coating. Additionally, it has an IP68 rating and is water-resistant up to 100 meters.
The company is also introducing a $99 aluminum charging case for the Ring 5, capable of holding a month's worth of battery life, featuring wireless charging support, and including an action button to check charging status and pairing.
Oura is enhancing the app with more health features
The Health Radar is the most significant update for Oura subscription members using Gen 3 rings and newer. It includes two primary functions: Blood Pressure Signals and Nighttime Breathing. The Blood Pressure Signals feature tracks blood pressure during sleep, minimizing the influence of factors like movement, stress, and caffeine on readings. It can notify users of any unusual cardiovascular strain detected during sleep.
Users can also enter readings from a traditional blood pressure cuff directly into the Oura app, allowing these measurements to be viewed alongside their longer-term data from Oura.

Nighttime Breathing operates similarly, monitoring breathing patterns during sleep and providing users with a 30-day overview of sleep-related breathing interruptions. This facilitates the identification of patterns that may require medical evaluation.
Other recent software updates include Live Activity Tracking, which transforms the Oura app into an active workout partner. Users can initiate a workout from the app and track pace, distance, and connected heart rate in real time. This feature supports activities like running, cycling, and strength training, and can also integrate heart rate readings from third-party monitors and compatible devices.
The Oura Ring 5 is available for preorder now and will begin shipping on June 4, 2026. It is priced at $399 for Silver and Black, and $499 for Gold, Stealth, Brushed Silver, and Deep Rose options.
