Forget about smart glasses; these earbuds can see, hear, and remember everything on your behalf.

Smart glasses have always seemed somewhat awkward to me. While they can play music, make calls, take photos, and display notifications right in front of you, ultimately they are just small screens on your face. Now, imagine eliminating the screen altogether.

That’s precisely what this new AI-powered pair of earbuds aims to achieve. Instead of displaying information, these earbuds are built to quietly perceive, remember, and interact with the environment around you. Honestly, this could represent one of the more intriguing paths that wearable AI has taken thus far.

Ordo aims to be your invisible AI assistant.

The earbuds, named Ordo, feature a built-in camera and integrated AI processing. This allows you to communicate naturally with them and receive immediate responses without having to pull out your phone or look at another screen. The concept feels like having an unseen assistant continuously listening and providing help in the background. Admittedly, the camera aspect may seem a bit unusual initially. You can instruct the earbuds to take photos completely hands-free, simply by speaking. However, the more significant feature is memory. Ordo is designed to remember things for you—conversations, notes, reminders, ideas, grocery lists, essentially any fleeting thought you might forget shortly after.

For instance, if you share your grocery list with the earbuds while leaving, they can later recite every item back to you accurately. This straightforward example illustrates the direction AI wearables are heading: minimizing the instances when you need to check a screen at all. Additionally, the earbuds integrate with apps that people already use regularly, such as Slack, Notion, and Gmail. You can ask Ordo to save information directly into your notes—whether it’s work-related information, a book quote, or a quick thought that crosses your mind during the day. Instead of taking the time to type things out, the AI manages the organization for you.

However, there is one drawback: you still cannot actually purchase them.

Naturally, there’s a significant caveat: this product is not yet available. At present, Ordo is only available for pre-order at $99, with shipping anticipated sometime in the fourth quarter of 2026. So, those who reserve one today will probably receive it between October and December of this year.

That timeline raises several unanswered questions. How effectively does the AI perform in real-life situations? How secure is a device that is always listening and occasionally observing? And perhaps most crucially, are people genuinely ready to wear a device that can remember everything for them? Nonetheless, despite the skepticism, it’s difficult not to recognize why this concept feels thrilling. Smart wearables have spent years bringing screens closer to our eyes, whereas Ordo appears to be posing a different question: what if the future of AI wearables doesn’t require a screen at all?
