As the RAM shortage impacts the gaming sector, Nvidia might bring back a previous RTX 3000 series graphics card.

      Nvidia may be planning to reintroduce the older graphics card, the GeForce RTX 3060, due to increasing pressure on the gaming industry from a global VRAM shortage. Recent leaks and supply chain information suggest that production of the RTX 3060 12GB could resume as soon as June 2026, with a possible retail return in July.

      An Old GPU with Renewed Importance

      The RTX 3060 was initially released in 2021 and phased out in 2024. Nevertheless, new reports indicate that Nvidia might bring it back to fill a gap in their current product lineup. Board partners such as Asus, MSI, and others are expected to receive new chip allocations soon, suggesting that manufacturing may ramp up quickly.

      The driving factor behind this strategy seems to be the persistent VRAM shortage. Contemporary GPUs depend on advanced memory types like GDDR7, which are currently scarce.
