Motorola's latest Razr Ultra foldable is more attractive than before, and it comes with a higher price tag as well.
Motorola's new Razr Ultra 2026 seems to emphasize the fashion aspect of foldables more than ever. It maintains the recognizable compact flip design, but this year's finishes give it a more stylish appearance, resembling a fashion accessory rather than just a conventional smartphone that unfolds into a full-sized flagship.
Is this the most attractive Razr to date?
The most visually appealing version might be the Pantone Orient Blue model, which features a delicately embossed Alcantara finish. Additionally, Motorola has introduced a Pantone Cocoa variant with a natural wood veneer finish, providing a warmer and more subtle aesthetic. Both options stand out from the usual plain glass backs, making the Razr Ultra feel more individualized compared to last year's model.

The company has also focused on enhancing durability this year. The Razr Ultra 2026 comes with an IP48 rating, a titanium-reinforced hinge, and Gorilla Glass Ceramic 3 on its external display. According to Motorola, this outer glass offers over 75% improved drop performance than its predecessor. Despite the sturdier construction, the phone remains slim at 7.19mm when opened and weighs 199 grams.
The screens continue to be a major draw. The 4.0-inch outer display allows users to run applications, check messages, utilize widgets, play games, and interact with the phone without needing to open it. It boasts a 165Hz refresh rate and achieves a peak brightness of 3,000 nits for visibility in bright outdoor conditions. When the phone is opened, it reveals a 7-inch Extreme AMOLED display with a 165Hz refresh rate, Dolby Vision, Pantone-validated color, and a peak brightness of 5,000 nits.
Operating on Android 16, the device is powered by the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, accompanied by 16GB of LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB of internal storage. The previous year's Ultra had similar specifications; however, the battery capacity has marginally increased to 5,000 mAh from the previous 4,700 mAh. The 68W TurboPower charging, as well as wireless and reverse charging features, remain unchanged from last year.

What contributes to the higher price this year?
The Razr Ultra 2026 operates on Android 16 and is equipped with the Snapdragon 8 Elite chipset, along with 16GB LPDDR5X RAM and 512GB built-in storage. While last year's Razr Ultra had the same primary performance configuration, Motorola has boosted the battery capacity. The features for 68W TurboPower charging, wireless charging, and reverse charging are consistent with the prior model.
The camera system consists of a 50MP main camera featuring a LOFIC sensor, OIS, Dolby Vision recording, and Pantone Validated color. It is complemented by a 50MP ultrawide and macro camera, along with a 50MP internal selfie camera. Video recording capabilities reach up to 8K at 30 fps.
The Motorola Razr Ultra 2026 will be available in Pantone Orient Blue with an Alcantara finish and Pantone Cocoa with a wood finish. Pre-orders in the U.S. will start on May 14 through Best Buy, Amazon, and Motorola.com, with general sales commencing on May 21. The unlocked model is priced at $1,499.99, which is $200 more expensive than the initial launch price of last year's Razr Ultra. This price increase is likely a result of the ongoing RAM and NAND supply shortage.
The brand has also introduced several other smartphones alongside the Razr Ultra, including the Razr, Razr+, and Razr Fold.
