      Approximately one-third of Google Translate's mobile users already utilize the app for practicing speaking and listening for real-life conversations, making this a genuinely beneficial addition.

      How does the pronunciation practice feature in Google Translate work?

      Once you obtain a translation, a new “Practice” button will appear at the bottom of the app. Tapping it provides you with two options. The “Listen” option allows you to hear how native speakers articulate the words, while the “Pronounce” option is where you can practice yourself.

      You will speak the translated phrase, and the AI listens, analyzes your speech in real time, and provides immediate feedback on any mistakes. It then presents a phonetic breakdown of how each word is supposed to sound. The phonetic spellings are laid out to give you another chance to get it right on your next attempt, resembling the pronunciation feedback method used by Duolingo in its language learning app.
