Even Realities' smart glasses place the coding terminal right in front of your eye.
Even Realities has launched the v2.2.0 update for its Even G2 smart glasses, featuring Terminal Mode as its main highlight. The update is now available, providing developers with a new method to monitor and interact with coding agents without being tied to a laptop screen.
Your terminal is now in your field of vision
Terminal Mode is centered on the concept of displaying the coding terminal directly in front of the user’s eyes. Developers utilizing AI coding agents can oversee the agent's actions, monitor progress, issue commands, and respond as needed via the glasses’ integrated microphone. This feature minimizes the need to frequently return to a laptop, allowing users greater mobility to manage tasks or even exercise between coding sessions.
In an interview, CEO Will Wang explained that the inspiration for this feature arose from a recent trip to Silicon Valley, where he observed developers increasingly communicating with AI agents via microphones instead of typing commands. These agents are capable of completing most tasks independently, making the built-in microphone and virtual terminal display of the Even G2 a natural fit for this kind of workflow.
It may seem geeky, but so is wearing a computer on your face. Terminal Mode enhances what the G2 already excels at by providing just enough information to keep you engaged and applies it to coding.
Terminal Mode aligns with Even Realities’ goal of expanding the G2's functionality beyond simple notifications. The smart glasses have recently introduced tools for meeting preparation and running applications directly within the user’s line of sight.
The geeky enhancements don't stop there
The v2.2.0 update includes several additional features. Users can now export Conversate and Translate records. Moreover, Even AI now allows for uninterrupted conversations, eliminating the need to repeat a wake-up command during an ongoing dialogue. Even Realities also mentions enhancements to sleep algorithms and improved connection stability.
While Terminal Mode may seem tailored for a specific audience, for coders who are already using AI agents, it could serve as a handy secondary screen for quick updates, approvals, and progress checks. Although it is a niche feature for now, it clarifies the Even G2's role in developer workflows beyond basic smart-glass notifications.
