The Galaxy Book6 Pro fits that bill perfectly, sporting a design that doesn’t try too hard.

      When I examined the ports, I couldn't help but laugh because I hadn’t realized how much I had endured over the past three years. The MacBook Air creates the illusion that two USB-C ports are the norm. You buy the dongle, carry it around, forget it at home, and end up inconvenienced; it becomes routine. In contrast, the Book6 Pro includes an HDMI port, two USB-C ports, a USB-A port, and an audio jack— all readily available for use. On the first morning, I packed my bag without needing to check for dongles. It’s a small detail, but after three years of quiet annoyance, it was a relief.

      As a writer, the keyboard is my first point of focus. Before inspecting the display or running benchmarks, I place my fingers on the keys because if the typing experience is lacking, nothing else truly matters. The MacBook’s Magic Keyboard has spoiled me over the years with its flat key layout and ample spacing; my fingers instinctively know where to land. Thus, that formed my benchmark for the Book6 Pro.

      To my surprise, the Galaxy Book6 Pro performed well in this area. The keys have a thoughtful spacing that makes extended typing sessions effortless, and the backlit layout is clean and comfortable. I spent hours writing and researching without once hitting the wrong key or needing to slow down due to errors. For the type of work I do, that's crucial.

      However, the Book6 Pro actually outshines in one unexpected aspect: the keys are matte. That may seem like a minor detail, but after three years with the MacBook Air’s glossy keys, it’s significant. I’m someone who frequently cleans their hands before typing, yet I still ended up with greasy fingerprints on the keyboard by the end of a session. That irked me more than it probably should have. The Book6 Pro’s matte finish prevents this issue; after daily use, the keys still look brand new. Honestly, that alone sold me on it— it reveals how much the glossy keyboard had been bothering me all along.

      The display captivates

      The Galaxy Book6 Pro features a 16-inch Dynamic AMOLED 2x display, and when I first used it, I realized I had been missing something I didn’t even know I wanted. Having never had a touch display on a laptop before — since the MacBook Air lacks one — this was completely uncharted territory for me. But I quickly acclimated. When reading lengthy articles or researching, I simply reach out and scroll with my finger, akin to using a tablet. It feels naturally integrated; the touchpad and touch display complement each other based on my current task.

      Then, something amusing occurred. I returned to my MacBook to work and, without thinking, reached out to touch the screen, resting my finger on a display that is entirely unresponsive to touch. That’s when I realized the Book6 Pro had thoroughly changed my perspective.
