A damning report reveals that the app stores of Apple and Google are promoting nudify applications.
The app stores are not merely hosting nudify apps; they are actively promoting them.
If you thought that Apple and Google were simply slow to identify harmful apps on their platforms, a new investigation indicates that the situation is much more severe. The Tech Transparency Project (TTP) discovered that both the App Store and Google Play are not only hosting nudify apps, but their search and advertising algorithms are also directing users toward these apps.
Nudify apps are AI tools capable of digitally removing clothing from photos of real individuals. They can also produce pornographic videos or generate sexually explicit chatbots using someone's likeness. What's alarming is that 31 of the apps identified by TTP were deemed suitable for minors.
How Apple and Google are directing users to these nudify apps

TTP performed searches using keywords like “nudify,” “undress,” “deepfake,” and “AI NSFW” in both app stores. Around 40% of the top 10 results for each keyword returned apps that could render women nude or partially clothed. However, the issue extends beyond just search results. Both platforms featured paid advertisements for nudify apps within those results. In Google's case, this included a carousel of sponsored apps, some of which were explicitly pornographic.
The autocomplete feature exacerbated the problem. When TTP entered “AI NS” into the App Store search, it suggested “image to video ai nsfw,” which led to additional nudify apps in the top search results. Apple manages all advertising in its App Store and has publicly stated a policy against ads promoting adult content. Nonetheless, three of TTP’s App Store searches still yielded a nudify ad as the very first result.
Why this issue is more significant than you might think

The apps discovered across both stores have been downloaded 483 million times and generated over $122 million in revenue. Apple and Google receive a portion of that through paid subscriptions and in-app purchases, which TTP suggests may account for the lax enforcement.
After TTP and Bloomberg highlighted these apps, Apple removed 15 of them, and Google suspended several others. However, both companies refrained from explaining how these apps passed review or why the age ratings allowed minors access to them.
How long until Apple and Google are compelled to take action?

The UK government has started proposing and implementing laws against explicit deepfakes, and the US has recently seen its first criminal conviction under such a law. The pressure on Apple and Google to act more decisively is likely to increase.
Apple's own enforcement history is currently under examination. A letter obtained by NBC News revealed that Apple privately threatened to pull Grok from the App Store in January due to sexualized deepfakes, even deeming xAI’s first fix inadequate. Ultimately, Apple allowed Grok to remain, but with accumulating reports like this one, both companies are running out of leeway to ignore the issue.
Motorola Razr Fold could finally hit the shelves next month
Motorola's first book-style foldable phone is on its way, featuring impressive specifications and advantages, with a launch date that finally makes the wait worthwhile. After showcasing the Razr Fold at CES 2026 and announcing it at MWC 2026, Motorola has been teasing potential buyers without a definite launch date. However, those eagerly anticipating its release can finally relax, as the Razr Fold now has a real launch date (though with some conditions).
How much will the Razr Fold cost?
Ready for phones equipped with a massive 11,000mAh battery? Honor might be close to delivering one.
Battery anxiety is a genuine concern for many, including myself. That feeling when your phone drops to 20% halfway through a long day and every notification becomes a source of stress is all too familiar. Honor seems determined to address this issue. A leak from Digital Chat Station suggests that Honor is in the trial phase of a new battery with a rated capacity of 10,690mAh, translating to a typical capacity of 11,000mAh, designed for a smartphone. I'm genuinely excited about this development.
This isn't Honor's first venture into high-capacity batteries.
You can finally eliminate tedious YouTube Shorts from your feed.
YouTube just provided you with the essential tool to break the Shorts cycle.
To be straightforward, I dislike YouTube Shorts. Not only do they waste time, but they also drain your mental energy and often leave you feeling unhappy afterwards. Fortunately, with a new update that YouTube is currently rolling out, you can finally remove this feature from your feed.
This new function builds upon the Shorts timer that YouTube introduced last October, allowing users to set a daily scrolling limit anywhere from 15 minutes to two hours. Once you reach that limit, YouTube prompts you to stop.

Although Apple and Google have policies prohibiting explicit content, they are allegedly directing users towards AI nudify applications via autocomplete suggestions and paid advertisements. Some of these applications have even been marked as appropriate for children.
