MSI's most significant laptop release of the year features five product families, the latest high-performance mobile processors from Intel, and Nvidia's most powerful gaming GPUs to date.

Subtlety is not a strong suit, and MSI just demonstrated that. The Taiwanese laptop manufacturer has launched an extensive refresh, revealing over a dozen new gaming laptops across its Cyborg, Crosshair, Raider, Stealth, and Titan series.
With models available in 15-inch, 16-inch, and 18-inch sizes, there’s something for every gamer or professional user, making it difficult for buyers to find reasons to delay upgrading this year.

So, what’s new in these devices?
The newly unveiled Intel Arrow Lake-HX Plus chips, particularly the Core Ultra 9 290HZ Plus, serve as the driving force behind MSI’s new offerings. Other brands, including Acer, Asus, and Dell, have already launched laptops equipped with these chips. Although MSI is somewhat late to the game, it arrives fully equipped.
Eight of the new MSI laptops, including the Raider 16 Max HX, Raider 18 Max HX, Stealth 18 HX, and Titan 18 HX, are powered by the Core Ultra 9 290HX Plus chipset. Additionally, they come with an array of high-performance GPUs, spanning from the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5080 to the RTX 5090.
Notably, the Crosshair 16 Max HX is the first laptop to feature Nvidia’s upcoming 12GB RTX 5070 laptop GPU. Meanwhile, the Raider 16 Max HX, showcased at CES 2026, delivers a combined system power of 300W, with 175W sourced solely from the GPU.

Should budget-conscious gamers pay attention?
Absolutely. MSI has also updated the Crosshair 16 HX with older 14th-gen Intel processors and RTX 5050/5060/5070 GPUs. The entry-level Cyborg 15 series makes a return with more accessible specifications.
While MSI has yet to announce pricing, the lineup is expected to cater to various market segments, likely ranging from mid-range to premium laptops. It seems to me that the launch reflects some competitive pressure, as I find it challenging to keep track of the models and their specifications.
